When the Ammonites realized that they had become obnoxious to David, they hired twenty thousand Aramean foot soldiers from Beth Rehob and Zobah, as well as the king of Maakah with a thousand men, and also twelve thousand men from Tob.

The Ammonites realized that what they had done had made David very angry with them. So they hired 20,000 Aramean soldiers who were on foot. The soldiers came from Beth Rehob and Zobah. The Ammonites also hired the king of Maakah and 1,000 men. And they hired 12,000 men from Tob.

When the Ammonites saw that they had become a stench to David, the Ammonites sent and hired the Syrians of Beth-rehob, and the Syrians of Zobah, 20,000 foot soldiers, and the king of Maacah with 1,000 men, and the men of Tob, 12,000 men.

When the people of Ammon realized how seriously they had angered David, they sent and hired 20,000 Aramean foot soldiers from the lands of Beth rehob and Zobah, 1,000 from the king of Maacah, and 12,000 from the land of Tob.

When the Ammonites realized they had become repulsive to David, they hired twenty thousand foot soldiers from the Arameans of Beth-rehob and Zobah, one thousand men from the king of Maacah, and twelve thousand men from Tob.

When the Ammonites realized that David was disgusted with them, they sent and hired 20,000 foot soldiers from Aram Beth Rehob and Aram Zobah, in addition to 1,000 men from the king of Maacah and 12,000 men from Ish-tob.

When the children of Ammon saw that they had become odious to David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth Rehob, and the Syrians of Zobah, twenty thousand footmen, and the king of Maacah with one thousand men, and the men of Tob twelve thousand men.

利合的兒子瑣巴王哈大底謝往幼發拉底河去，要奪回他的國權，大衛就攻打他，

大馬士革的亞蘭人來幫助瑣巴王哈大底謝，大衛殺了亞蘭人二萬二千。

雅各對西緬和利未說：「你們連累了我，使我在這地的居民中，就是在迦南人和比利洗人中壞了名聲。我的人丁稀少，他們必聚集來擊殺我，我和全家的人都要被滅絕。」

沒有人來搭救，因為這城離西頓很遠，他們又與世無爭；這城在靠近伯‧利合的平原。但人建造這城，在那裏居住，

耶弗他就逃離他的兄弟，住在陀伯地。有些無賴的人聚集在他那裏，與他一同出入。

亞捫人攻打以色列的時候，基列的長老去請耶弗他從陀伯地回來。

亞吉信了大衛，說：「大衛已經使本族以色列人憎惡他，所以他必永遠作我的僕人了。」

就向他們說：「願耶和華鑒察你們，施行判斷，因為你們使我們在法老和他臣僕面前有了臭名，把刀遞在他們手中來殺我們。」

萬民哪，任憑你們行惡，終必毀滅；遠方的眾人哪，當側耳而聽！任憑你們束腰，終必毀滅；你們束起腰來，終必毀滅。任憑你們籌算甚麼，終必無效；不管你們講定甚麼，總不成立；因為上帝與我們同在。

就是從亞蘭、摩押、亞捫人、非利士人、亞瑪力人，以及從利合的兒子瑣巴王哈大底謝所掠之物。

以色列眾人聽見掃羅攻擊非利士的駐軍，又聽見以色列為非利士人所憎惡，百姓就跟隨掃羅，在吉甲集合。

亞捫人看到大衛憎惡他們，哈嫩和亞捫人就派人拿一千他連得銀子，從美索不達米亞、亞蘭‧瑪迦、瑣巴雇用戰車和騎兵。他們雇了三萬二千輛戰車，以及瑪迦王和他的軍兵；這些部隊來安營在米底巴前。亞捫人也從他們的城裏出來，聚集預備作戰。

不要冒失出去與人爭訟，免得你的鄰舍羞辱你，最後你就不知怎麼做。

還有基列，基述人和瑪迦人的邊界，整個黑門山、整個巴珊，直到撒迦；還有在亞斯她錄和以得來作王的巴珊王噩的整個國土，噩是利乏音人惟一存留的。摩西擊敗了這些人，把他們趕走。以色列人卻沒有趕走基述人和瑪迦人；基述人和瑪迦人仍住在以色列中，直到今日。

瑪拿西的子孫睚珥佔領了亞珥歌伯全境，直到基述人和瑪迦人的邊界，就按自己的名字稱這些地，就是巴珊，為哈倭特‧睚珥，直到今日。
