還派軍駐守亞蘭國的大馬士革，亞蘭人臣服大衛，向他進貢。耶和華使大衛無往而不勝。

亞蘭王便·哈達率領全軍，聯合三十二個王，帶著車馬圍攻撒瑪利亞。

亞多尼·比色說：「從前七十個王的大拇指和大腳趾被我砍掉，在我桌下撿食物碎屑，現在上帝照我的行為報應我了。」他們把他帶到耶路撒冷，他死在那裡了。

然後，約書亞回師攻陷夏瑣，殺了夏瑣王。夏瑣在諸國中為首。

世上的君王一同聚集，前來攻城。他們看見這城後，大驚失色，慌忙逃跑。

王啊，你是萬王之王，天上的上帝已將國度、權柄、能力和尊榮賜給你，

他們對她所受的災禍充滿恐懼，就遠遠地站著說，『強大堅固的巴比倫城啊，真悲慘！真悲慘！因為審判頃刻間臨到你了。』

我追趕仇敵直到追上，不消滅他們決不回頭。我打垮他們，使他們倒在我的腳下，再也站不起來。

那時，示拿王暗拉非、以拉撒王亞略、以攔王基大老瑪和戈印王提達聯合攻打以下五王：所多瑪王比拉、蛾摩拉王比沙、押瑪王示納、洗扁王善以別和比拉王，即瑣珥王。
