大卫又问他说：“事情怎样？请你告诉我。”他回答说：“百姓从阵上逃跑，也有许多人仆倒死亡；扫罗和他儿子约拿单也死了。”

大卫又对他说：“事情怎么样？请你告诉我。”他说：“士兵从阵上逃跑，也有许多士兵仆倒死亡，扫罗和他儿子约拿单也死了。”

大卫又对他说：“事情怎么样？请你告诉我。”他说：“士兵从阵上逃跑，也有许多士兵仆倒死亡，扫罗和他儿子约拿单也死了。”

大卫说：“请告诉我那边的情况。”他说：“以色列军溃逃，伤亡惨重，扫罗和他儿子约拿单都死了！”

大卫又问他：“情况怎么样？请你告诉我！”他回答：“众人都逃离战场，他们中间不但有许多人倒地阵亡，连扫罗和他的儿子约拿单也死了。”

“ What happened?” David asked.“ Tell me.”“ The men fled from the battle,” he replied.“ Many of them fell and died. And Saul and his son Jonathan are dead.”

“ What happened?” David asked.“ Tell me.” He said,“ Israel’s men ran away from the battle. Many of them were killed. Saul and his son Jonathan are dead.”

And David said to him,“ How did it go? Tell me.” And he answered,“ The people fled from the battle, and also many of the people have fallen and are dead, and Saul and his son Jonathan are also dead.”

“ What happened?” David demanded.“ Tell me how the battle went.” The man replied,“ Our entire army fled from the battle. Many of the men are dead, and Saul and his son Jonathan are also dead.”

“ What was the outcome? Tell me,” David asked him.“ The troops fled from the battle,” he answered.“ Many of the troops have fallen and are dead. Also, Saul and his son Jonathan are dead.”

David said to him,“ How did things go? Please tell me.” And he said,“ The people have fled from the battle, and many of the people also have fallen and are dead; and Saul and his son Jonathan are also dead.”

Now the Philistines fought against Israel; the Israelites fled before them, and many fell dead on Mount Gilboa.The Philistines were in hot pursuit of Saul and his sons, and they killed his sons Jonathan, Abinadab and Malki- Shua.The fighting grew fierce around Saul, and when the archers overtook him, they wounded him critically.Saul said to his armor-bearer,“ Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and run me through and abuse me.” But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.When the armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he too fell on his sword and died with him.So Saul and his three sons and his armor-bearer and all his men died together that same day.
