O women of Israel, weep for Saul, for he dressed you in luxurious scarlet clothing, in garments decorated with gold.

Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, Who clothed you in scarlet delicately, Who put ornaments of gold upon your apparel.

You daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you delicately in scarlet, who put ornaments of gold on your clothing.

‘ Have they not found and divided the spoil?— A womb or two for every man; spoil of dyed materials for Sisera, spoil of dyed materials embroidered, two pieces of dyed work embroidered for the neck as spoil?’

Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire,but with what is proper for women who profess godliness— with good works.

“ The kings of the armies— they flee, they flee!” The women at home divide the spoil—

The Lord said: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walk with outstretched necks, glancing wantonly with their eyes, mincing along as they go, tinkling with their feet,therefore the Lord will strike with a scab the heads of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will lay bare their secret parts.In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets, the headbands, and the crescents;the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarves;the headdresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets;the signet rings and nose rings;the festal robes, the mantles, the cloaks, and the handbags;the mirrors, the linen garments, the turbans, and the veils.Instead of perfume there will be rottenness; and instead of a belt, a rope; and instead of well-set hair, baldness; and instead of a rich robe, a skirt of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.Your men shall fall by the sword and your mighty men in battle.And her gates shall lament and mourn; empty, she shall sit on the ground.

Do not let your adorning be external— the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands,

She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
