非利士人攻打以色列。以色列人在非利士人面前逃跑，很多人在基利波山被杀仆倒。

有人摆设筵席，铺上地毯，又吃又喝。“官长啊，起来，抹亮盾牌。”

撒母耳拿一瓶膏油倒在扫罗的头上，亲吻他，说：“耶和华岂不是膏你作他产业的君王吗？

我必使它荒废，不再修剪，不再锄草，任荆棘蒺藜生长；我也必吩咐密云，不再降雨在其上。

谁知道他也许会回心转意，留下余福，就是献给耶和华—你们神的素祭和浇酒祭。

耶和华的殿中断绝素祭和浇酒祭，事奉耶和华的祭司都悲哀。

非利士人攻打以色列。以色列人在非利士人面前逃跑，很多人在基利波山被杀仆倒。

次日，非利士人来剥那些被杀之人的衣服，看见扫罗和他儿子仆倒在基利波山。

“愿我生的那日灭没，说‘怀了男胎’的那夜也灭没。愿那日变为黑暗，愿神不从上面寻找它，愿亮光不照于其上。愿黑暗和死荫索取那日，愿密云停在其上，愿白天的昏暗恐吓它。愿那夜被幽暗夺取，不在一年的日子中喜乐，也不列入月中的数目。看哪，愿那夜没有生育，其间也没有欢乐的声音。愿那些诅咒日子且能惹动力威亚探的，诅咒那夜。愿那夜黎明的星宿变为黑暗，盼亮却不亮，也不见晨曦破晓；因它没有把怀我胎的门关闭，也没有从我的眼中隐藏患难。

“耶和华的使者说：‘要诅咒米罗斯，重重诅咒其中的居民，因为他们不来帮助耶和华，不来帮助耶和华攻击壮士。’

愿我出生的那日受诅咒！愿我母亲生我的那天不蒙福！报信给我父亲说“你得了儿子”，使我父亲甚欢喜的，愿那人受诅咒。愿那人像耶和华所倾覆而不怜惜的城镇；愿他早晨听见哀声，中午听见呐喊；

主耶和华如此说：“它坠落阴间的那日，我为它遮盖深渊，拦住江河，使众水停流，以表哀悼。我使黎巴嫩为它悲哀，田野的树木都因它枯萎。
