有一個便雅憫人跑離戰場，衣服撕裂，頭蒙塵土，當天來到示羅。

從前有人向我報信說：‘看哪！掃羅死了。’他自以為是報好消息，我卻抓住他，把他殺在洗革拉，這就是我給他作報好消息的酬報。

亞比該見了大衛，就急忙從驢背下來，俯伏在大衛面前，臉伏於地，向他叩拜。

大衛到了山頂，就是人敬拜神的地方。看哪！有亞基人戶篩衣服撕裂，頭蒙灰塵，在那裡迎接他。

看哪！從撒但的一黨，就是自稱是猶太人，其實不是猶太人，而是說謊的人中，我要使他們一些人來在你腳前下拜，並且知道我已經愛了你。

提哥亞婦人進去見王，俯伏在地，叩拜他，說：“王啊！求你幫助我。”

流本回到枯井那裡，見約瑟不在井裡，就撕裂自己的衣服。

第三日，亞伯拉罕舉目觀望，遠遠地看見了那地方。

那童僕一離去，大衛就從石堆的南邊起來，臉伏於地，叩拜了三次。二人互相親吻，相對哭泣，大衛哭得更悲痛。

雅各就撕裂自己的衣服，腰束麻布，為他兒子哀悼了很多日子。

兩天以後，他要使我們復原；第三天，他使我們起來，我們就可以活在他的面前。

那人告訴以利：“我是從戰場上來的，今天從戰場上逃回來。”以利問：“我兒，事情怎麼樣？”

從那時起，耶穌開始向門徒指出，他必須往耶路撒冷去，受長老、祭司長和經學家許多的苦害，並且被殺，第三天復活。

他們回答：“你僕人我們的父親平安，他還在。”於是他們低頭下拜。
