They will say,“ What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

说：“他要来临的应许在哪里呢？因为从列祖长眠以来，万物与起初创造的时候仍是一样啊！”

“主要降临的应许在哪里？从我们的祖先长眠地下直到现在，万物依旧与创世之初一样。”

并且说：“他来临的应许在哪里呢？其实自从祖先睡了以来，一切都继续存留，与创世之初一样。”

謂降臨之許安在、自列祖寢時、萬物與初創無異、

造物以來、列祖云亡、萬物如故、主許復臨、則未之見、

所許主復臨之言、應驗安在、自列祖去世去世原文作寢以來、萬物如故、與創造之始無異、

『造物以來、烈祖云亡、萬物如故；臨格之言、而今安在？』

They will say,“ Where is this‘ coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”

They will say,“ Where is this‘ return’ he promised? Everything goes on in the same way it has since our people of long ago died. In fact, it has continued this way since God first created everything.”

They will say,“ Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

saying,“ Where is his‘ coming’ that he promised? Ever since our ancestors fell asleep, all things continue as they have been since the beginning of creation.”

and saying,“ Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue just as they were from the beginning of creation.”

and saying,“ Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

People scoff at me and say,“ What is this‘ message from the Lord’ you talk about? Why don’t your predictions come true?”

You have wearied the Lord with your words.“ How have we wearied him?” you ask. You have wearied him by saying that all who do evil are good in the Lord’s sight, and he is pleased with them. You have wearied him by asking,“ Where is the God of justice?”

When a crime is not punished quickly, people feel it is safe to do wrong.

“ They have lied about the Lord and said,‘ He won’t bother us! No disasters will come upon us. There will be no war or famine.God’s prophets are all windbags who don’t really speak for him. Let their predictions of disaster fall on themselves!’”

But what if the servant is evil and thinks,‘ My master won’t be back for a while,’

What sorrow for those who drag their sins behind them with ropes made of lies, who drag wickedness behind them like a cart!They even mock God and say,“ Hurry up and do something! We want to see what you can do. Let the Holy One of Israel carry out his plan, for we want to know what it is.”

So Lot rushed out to tell his daughters’ fiancés,“ Quick, get out of the city! The Lord is about to destroy it.” But the young men thought he was only joking.

But what if the servant thinks,‘ My master won’t be back for a while,’ and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?

History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.

“ Son of man, you’ve heard that proverb they quote in Israel:‘ Time passes, and prophecies come to nothing.’Tell the people,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will put an end to this proverb, and you will soon stop quoting it.’ Now give them this new proverb to replace the old one:‘ The time has come for every prophecy to be fulfilled!’“ There will be no more false visions and flattering predictions in Israel.For I am the Lord! If I say it, it will happen. There will be no more delays, you rebels of Israel. I will fulfill my threat of destruction in your own lifetime. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!”Then this message came to me from the Lord:“ Son of man, the people of Israel are saying,‘ He’s talking about the distant future. His visions won’t come true for a long, long time.’

For there will be greater anguish in those days than at any time since God created the world. And it will never be so great again.

But‘ God made them male and female’ from the beginning of creation.

They say to the people,‘ Is it not a good time to build houses? This city is like an iron pot. We are safe inside it like meat in a pot.’

After all, what gives us hope and joy, and what will be our proud reward and crown as we stand before our Lord Jesus when he returns? It is you!

Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.
