神判定了所多瑪、蛾摩拉二城的罪，把它們傾覆，燒成灰燼，作為後世不敬虔的人的鑒戒；

上帝既叫所多瑪蛾摩拉城燒成灰燼，判歸傾覆，立做後來行不虔事之人的借鑑，

既然神又定了所多瑪和格摩拉的罪，把這二城傾覆，燒成灰燼，做為以後不敬神之人的鑒戒；

又灰燼所多瑪蛾摩拉二邑、以傾陷定其罪、以為後之不虔者鑒、

所多馬蛾摩拉二邑、上帝擬定其罪而滅之、變為瓦礫、以警後世之惡者、

又擬定傾覆所多瑪及俄摩拉二邑、焚為灰燼、以警後世之惡者、

又索多馬蛾摩拉二邑亦為天主所黜、而付諸一炬、以為後世不肖之炯戒。

if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

God judged the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. He burned them to ashes. He made them an example of what is going to happen to ungodly people.

if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people.

and if he reduced the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes and condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is coming to the ungodly;

and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example of what is coming for the ungodly;

又像所多瑪、蛾摩拉和周圍城市的人，與他們一樣的淫亂，隨從逆性的情慾，以致遭受永火的刑罰，成了後世的鑒戒。

在羅得的時代也是這樣，人們吃喝買賣，耕種建造，直到羅得離開所多瑪的那一天，火與硫磺從天上降下來，把他們全都滅掉。人子顯現的日子也是這樣。

地開了口，把他們和可拉吞了下去；可拉與他的同黨都死了，那時有火吞滅了二百五十個人，他們成了警戒。

又看見了遍地有硫磺，有鹽鹵，有火燒，沒有播種，沒有出產，寸草不生，好像耶和華在烈怒和怒火中毀滅的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁一樣，

當時，耶和華就使硫磺與火，從天上耶和華那裡降與所多瑪和蛾摩拉；把那些城和全平原，以及城中所有的居民，連地上生長的，都毀滅了。

這些事發生在他們身上，作為鑒戒，並且記下來，為了要警戒我們這些末世的人。

就像神傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉，和它們鄰近的城鎮一樣；必沒有人住在那裡，也必沒有人在那裡寄居。”這是耶和華的宣告。

向所多瑪和蛾摩拉，以及平原全地觀望。不料，看見那地有煙上升，好像燒窯的煙一樣。

“我傾覆你們，就像傾覆所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣；你們像一根木柴，從火裡抽出來；但你們仍不歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。

因此，萬軍之耶和華以色列的神說：“我指著我的永生起誓：摩押人必要像所多瑪，亞捫人必定像蛾摩拉，成為刺草和鹽坑之所，永遠荒涼之地。我餘下的子民必擄掠他們，我國中所餘的要得著他們為業。”

巴比倫本是列國中的華美，是迦勒底人引以為傲的榮耀，必像神傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉一樣。

“以法蓮啊，我怎能捨棄你！以色列啊，我怎能把你交出來！我怎能對你如同押瑪，待你好像洗扁呢！我的心腸翻轉，我的憐憫發動。

你妹妹所多瑪的罪孽是這樣：她和她的女兒們都驕傲自大，糧食豐足，生活安逸，卻沒有幫助困苦和貧窮的人。她們自高自傲，在我面前行了可憎的事；我看見了，就把她們除掉。撒瑪利亞所犯的罪還不及你所犯的一半；你所行的可憎之事比她更多，以致你的姊妹因你所行的一切可憎之事而顯為義。你既然使你的姊妹較顯為義，你就要承擔自己的恥辱；因為你所犯的罪比她們所犯的更可憎，她們比你更顯為義。你使你的姊妹較顯為義，所以你就要慚愧，承擔自己的恥辱了。“‘我要使所多瑪和她的女兒們，撒瑪利亞和她的女兒們從苦境中轉回，我也要使你們跟她們一起轉回，好使你擔當自己的恥辱，並且因你一切所行的使她們得了安慰，你就自覺慚愧。你的妹妹所多瑪和她的女兒們必回復原來的狀況；撒瑪利亞和她的女兒們必回復原來的狀況；你和你的女兒們也必回復原來的狀況。在你驕傲自大的日子，你妹妹所多瑪在你口中不是成了笑柄嗎？

要審判眾人，又要定所有不敬虔的人的罪，因為他們妄行各樣不敬虔的事，並且說了種種剛愎的話頂撞神。”
