又不惜上古之世、降洪水於不虔者、惟存宣義之挪亞八人、

先古之世、其俗澆漓、為上帝所責、災以洪水、惟傳道義之挪亞、暨其眷聚八人得救、

亦未惜先古之世、以洪水罰彼不虔敬之惡世、惟救傳義道之挪亞等八人、

古時人欲橫流、天主亦不惜使洪水氾濫、僅有宣揚道義之諾厄及同伴七人得濟。

if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;

God did not spare the world’s ungodly people long ago. He brought the flood on them. But Noah preached about the right way to live. God kept him safe. He also saved seven others.

if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;

And God did not spare the ancient world— except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood.

and spared not the ancient world, but preserved Noah with seven others, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;

and if He didn’t spare the ancient world, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others, when He brought a flood on the world of the ungodly;

And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth[ person], a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

and didn’t spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah with seven others, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought a flood on the world of the ungodly;

Through these things the world existing at that time was destroyed when it was deluged with water.

By faith Noah, when he was warned about things not yet seen, with reverent regard constructed an ark for the deliverance of his family. Through faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so too it will be in the days of the Son of Man.People were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage– right up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

In it he went and preached to the spirits in prison,after they were disobedient long ago when God patiently waited in the days of Noah as an ark was being constructed. In the ark a few, that is eight souls, were delivered through water.

Now Enoch, the seventh in descent beginning with Adam, even prophesied of them, saying,“ Look! The Lord is coming with thousands and thousands of his holy ones,to execute judgment on all, and to convict every person of all their thoroughly ungodly deeds that they have committed, and of all the harsh words that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

For just like the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.For in those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark.And they knew nothing until the flood came and took them all away. It will be the same at the coming of the Son of Man.

Will you keep to the old path that evil men have walked–men who were carried off before their time, when the flood was poured out on their foundations?

The LORD said to Noah,“ Come into the ark, you and all your household, for I consider you godly among this generation.You must take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, the male and its mate, two of every kind of unclean animal, the male and its mate,and also seven of every kind of bird in the sky, male and female, to preserve their offspring on the face of the earth.For in seven days I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the ground every living thing that I have made.”And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters engulfed the earth.Noah entered the ark along with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives because of the floodwaters.Pairs of clean animals, of unclean animals, of birds, and of everything that creeps along the ground,male and female, came into the ark to Noah, just as God had commanded him.And after seven days the floodwaters engulfed the earth.In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month– on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst open and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.And the rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.On that very day Noah entered the ark, accompanied by his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, along with his wife and his sons’ three wives.They entered, along with every living creature after its kind, every animal after its kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, everything with wings.Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life came into the ark to Noah.Those that entered were male and female, just as God commanded him. Then the LORD shut him in.The flood engulfed the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark and raised it above the earth.The waters completely overwhelmed the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the waters.The waters completely inundated the earth so that even all the high mountains under the entire sky were covered.The waters rose more than twenty feet above the mountains.And all living things that moved on the earth died, including the birds, domestic animals, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all humankind.Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.So the LORD destroyed every living thing that was on the surface of the ground, including people, animals, creatures that creep along the ground, and birds of the sky. They were wiped off the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark survived.The waters prevailed over the earth for 150 days.

When humankind began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,the sons of God saw that the daughters of humankind were beautiful. Thus they took wives for themselves from any they chose.So the LORD said,“ My spirit will not remain in humankind indefinitely, since they are mortal. They will remain for 120 more years.”The Nephilim were on the earth in those days( and also after this) when the sons of God were having sexual relations with the daughters of humankind, who gave birth to their children. They were the mighty heroes of old, the famous men.But the LORD saw that the wickedness of humankind had become great on the earth. Every inclination of the thoughts of their minds was only evil all the time.The LORD regretted that he had made humankind on the earth, and he was highly offended.So the LORD said,“ I will wipe humankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth– everything from humankind to animals, including creatures that move on the ground and birds of the air, for I regret that I have made them.”But Noah found favor in the sight of the LORD.
