古時人欲橫流、天主亦不惜使洪水氾濫、僅有宣揚道義之諾厄及同伴七人得濟。

if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;

God did not spare the world’s ungodly people long ago. He brought the flood on them. But Noah preached about the right way to live. God kept him safe. He also saved seven others.

當時之世、亦為水所滅、即在洪水汎濫之時也、

挪亞有信、蒙天主默示未見之事、遂敬畏主、而造方舟以救其家、以此罪世、且得由信之義、

人子臨時、正如挪亞時、人皆飲食嫁娶、迨挪亞入方舟日、洪水至、盡滅其眾、

彼亦藉其神、而往傳道於在獄之靈、昔挪亞造方舟、天主恆忍以待之時、彼等不信、入方舟而得救於水者無多、惟八人耳、

亞當七世之孫以諾、預言此等人云、主必偕其萬聖降臨、審判眾人、責諸不虔之罪人、為其所作不虔之事、亦為其謗言讟主、

人子之臨、正如挪亞之日、在洪水先、人皆飲食嫁娶、迨挪亞入方舟之日、不覺洪水忽至、淹滅其眾、人子之臨亦若是、

爾如是云、是爾守上古之邪道、即惡人所履者、彼未及期而見除、洪水沖沒其基、

主諭挪亞云、我於斯世、惟見爾為義於我前、爾偕眷屬、可登方舟、凡畜之潔者取七牝七牡、不潔之類取一牝一牡、飛鳥亦取七雌七雄、以遺種於世、越七日、我將雨於地四十晝夜、以所造諸生物、盡滅於地、挪亞悉遵主所命而行、洪水氾濫於地時、挪亞六百歲、挪亞與妻子及子婦、俱登方舟、以避洪水、潔畜與不潔畜、禽鳥以及動於地之昆蟲、牝牡為偶而至、隨挪亞登舟、遵天主所命挪亞者、七日後、洪水氾濫於地、適挪亞六百歲、二月十七日、是日大淵之泉湧出、天破其隙、注雨於地四十晝夜、當是日挪亞與三子閃、含、雅弗、挪亞之妻、暨三子之婦、悉登方舟、彼眾及百獸從其類、牲畜從其類、動於地之昆蟲從其類、諸飛禽從其類、凡有血肉有生氣者、各為匹耦、就挪亞登舟、凡登舟有血氣之物、乃循天主所命挪亞者、有牝有牡、主遂為之閉舟門、洪水氾濫於地四旬、水勢洶洶、使舟起浮於地上、水於地上漲溢愈甚、舟溯洄於水面、水勢在地極其浩大、天下高山為之淹沒、水漲溢、高於諸山、十有五尺、山嶺皆沒、地上各類生物、飛鳥六畜百獸、動於地之昆蟲以及人類、皆滅亡、凡在陸地、有鼻可通呼吸者、咸就死亡、地上各類生物、自人及六畜百獸昆蟲飛鳥、皆滅於地、獨挪亞與在舟者得存、水漲溢於地、歷一百五十日、

人蕃衍於地、亦生女、神子見世人之女美麗、乃隨意選擇、娶以為妻、主曰、人既為肉體、我之神不恆居於其內、或作我之神不永與之爭姑容其一百二十年、或作以後其壽命至一百二十年當時有偉丈夫在世、後、神子與世人之女同室、生子亦偉丈夫、即亙古以來、英武有名之人、○主見人在世、罪惡貫盈、心所圖維、恆為奸惡、於是、主悔造人於世、中心憂之、主曰、我所造之人、將滅於地、由人以及牲畜昆蟲飛鳥、因我造之悔矣、惟挪亞得恩於天主前、○
