亦未惜先古之世、以洪水罰彼不虔敬之惡世、惟救傳義道之挪亞等八人、

古時人欲橫流、天主亦不惜使洪水氾濫、僅有宣揚道義之諾厄及同伴七人得濟。

if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;

God did not spare the world’s ungodly people long ago. He brought the flood on them. But Noah preached about the right way to live. God kept him safe. He also saved seven others.

故當時之世、為水氾濫而沒、

挪亞以信而得示以未見之事、寅畏而備方舟、以救其家、由此而罪世、且得依信之義也、

人子之時、如挪亞之時、人食飲嫁娶、迨挪亞入方舟之日、洪水至而滅眾、

且以靈往而宣道於獄中諸靈、即昔之背逆者、上帝於挪亞備舟之日、恆忍以待之、時、由水得救者無幾、惟八人耳、

亞當七世孫以諾、預言斯人云、主偕其萬聖而來、行鞫於眾、質責諸不虔者、因以不虔而行不虔之行、及凡不虔之罪人、所言剛愎敵主之語、

人子之臨、有如挪亞之日、洪水之先、其人飲食嫁娶、迨挪亞入方舟日、人莫之知、及洪水至、盡沒之、人子之臨亦然、

爾豈欲循古昔之道、惡人所履者乎、彼未及期而見奪、其基被衝若溪流、

耶和華諭挪亞曰、爾與眷屬、可入方舟、蓋於斯世、我視爾為義也、取畜之潔者、牝牡各七、不潔者、牝牡二、飛鳥亦取雌雄各七、以存其種、生於全地、蓋越七日、我將降雨於地、四十晝夜、以殲所造之生物、挪亞悉遵耶和華命而行、○洪水淹地時、挪亞六百歲、與其妻子及媳、俱入方舟以避之、畜之潔與不潔者、禽鳥及昆蟲、牝牡為偶、隨挪亞入舟、循上帝所命、七日後、洪水氾濫於地、適挪亞六百歲、二月十七日、巨淵闢其泉、穹蒼啟其牖、雨降於地、四十晝夜、○是日挪亞與其妻、及三子、閃、含、雅弗、暨三子之婦、悉入方舟、百獸六畜、昆蟲禽鳥諸族、皆各從其類、凡有血氣之生物、各以匹偶、就挪亞入舟、凡入舟有血氣之物、有牝有牡、循上帝所命、耶和華閉之舟中、洪水氾濫四旬、水勢洶湧、舟浮於地、水愈漲溢、舟溯洄於水面、水勢橫流已甚、天下崇山、俱為湮沒、水高於山、十有五肘、岑巖悉沒、地上眾生、飛鳥、六畜、百獸、昆蟲、以及人類、盡皆滅亡、凡在陸地、有鼻可通呼吸者、咸就淪喪、地上眾生、人及牲畜、昆蟲、禽鳥、悉滅於地、獨挪亞與在舟者得存、水溢於地、凡一百五十日、

人民繁衍於地、乃生女子、上帝子見其豔麗、隨意遴選、娶以為室、耶和華曰、人既屬乎形軀、我神必不恆居其中、然其時日、尚可延至一百二十年、時、有偉人在世、厥後、上帝子與世人之女同室、生子為上古英武有名之人、○耶和華鑒觀世人、罪惡貫盈、心所圖維、恆為邪慝、乃悔造人於地、心焉憂之、耶和華曰、將以我所造之人、以及牲畜昆蟲飛鳥、翦滅於地、蓋我造之而悔矣、惟挪亞沾恩於耶和華前、○
