亦未惜先古之世、以洪水罰彼不虔敬之惡世、惟救傳義道之挪亞等八人、

古時人欲橫流、天主亦不惜使洪水氾濫、僅有宣揚道義之諾厄及同伴七人得濟。

if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;

God did not spare the world’s ungodly people long ago. He brought the flood on them. But Noah preached about the right way to live. God kept him safe. He also saved seven others.

And God did not spare the ancient world— except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood.

挪亞因着信，既蒙神指示他未見的事，動了敬畏的心，預備了一隻方舟，使他全家得救。因此就定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那從信而來的義。 (cunpt)

挪亞的日子怎樣，人子的日子也要怎樣。那時候的人又吃又喝，又娶又嫁，到挪亞進方舟的那日，洪水就來，把他們全都滅了。 (cunpt)

他藉這靈曾去傳道給那些在監獄裏的靈聽，就是那從前在挪亞預備方舟、神容忍等待的時候，不信從的人。當時進入方舟，藉着水得救的不多，只有八個人。 (cunpt)

亞當的七世孫以諾曾預言這些人說：「看哪，主帶着他的千萬聖者降臨，要在眾人身上行審判，證實那一切不敬虔的人所妄行一切不敬虔的事，又證實不敬虔之罪人所說頂撞他的剛愎話。」 (cunpt)

你要依從上古的道嗎？這道是惡人所行的。他們未到死期，忽然除滅；根基毀壞，好像被江河沖去。 (cunpt)

耶和華對挪亞說：「你和你的全家都要進入方舟；因為在這世代中，我見你在我面前是義人。凡潔淨的畜類，你要帶七公七母；不潔淨的畜類，你要帶一公一母；空中的飛鳥也要帶七公七母，可以留種，活在全地上；因為再過七天，我要降雨在地上四十晝夜，把我所造的各種活物都從地上除滅。」挪亞就遵着耶和華所吩咐的行了。當洪水氾濫在地上的時候，挪亞整六百歲。挪亞就同他的妻和兒子兒婦都進入方舟，躲避洪水。潔淨的畜類和不潔淨的畜類，飛鳥並地上一切的昆蟲，都是一對一對地，有公有母，到挪亞那裏進入方舟，正如神所吩咐挪亞的。過了那七天，洪水氾濫在地上。當挪亞六百歲，二月十七日那一天，大淵的泉源都裂開了，天上的窗戶也敞開了，四十晝夜降大雨在地上。正當那日，挪亞和他三個兒子閃、含、雅弗，並挪亞的妻子和三個兒婦，都進入方舟。他們和百獸，各從其類，一切牲畜，各從其類，爬在地上的昆蟲，各從其類，一切禽鳥，各從其類，都進入方舟。凡有血肉、有氣息的活物，都一對一對地到挪亞那裏，進入方舟。凡有血肉進入方舟的，都是有公有母，正如神所吩咐挪亞的。耶和華就把他關在方舟裏頭。洪水氾濫在地上四十天，水往上長，把方舟從地上漂起。水勢浩大，在地上大大地往上長，方舟在水面上漂來漂去。水勢在地上極其浩大，天下的高山都淹沒了。水勢比山高過十五肘，山嶺都淹沒了。凡在地上有血肉的動物，就是飛鳥、牲畜、走獸，和爬在地上的昆蟲，以及所有的人，都死了。凡在旱地上、鼻孔有氣息的生靈都死了。凡地上各類的活物，連人帶牲畜、昆蟲，以及空中的飛鳥，都從地上除滅了，只留下挪亞和那些與他同在方舟裏的。水勢浩大，在地上共一百五十天。 (cunpt)

當人在世上多起來、又生女兒的時候，神的兒子們看見人的女子美貌，就隨意挑選，娶來為妻。耶和華說：「人既屬乎血氣，我的靈就不永遠住在他裏面；然而他的日子還可到一百二十年。」那時候有偉人在地上，後來神的兒子們和人的女子們交合生子；那就是上古英武有名的人。耶和華見人在地上罪惡很大，終日所思想的盡都是惡，耶和華就後悔造人在地上，心中憂傷。耶和華說：「我要將所造的人和走獸，並昆蟲，以及空中的飛鳥，都從地上除滅，因為我造他們後悔了。」惟有挪亞在耶和華眼前蒙恩。 (cunpt)
