他們知道義路，竟背棄了傳授給他們那神聖的誡命，倒不如不知道為妙。

因為認識了義的道路以後，背離那交託給他們的神聖誡命，對他們來說，倒不如不認識還好。

蓋未識義路、較識之而背所受之聖誡猶愈也、

既識道矣、猶棄所受之聖命、孰若不識道義之為美、

既識義道、竟背所受之聖命、莫若不識之為美、

蓋與其知道而背命、孰若初未聞道之為愈乎？

It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.

Suppose they had not known the way of godliness. This would have been better than to know godliness and then turn away from it. The way of godliness is the sacred command passed on to them.

For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.

It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life.

至於義人，他若轉離義行而作惡，照着惡人所做一切可憎的事去做，豈能存活呢？他所行的一切義都不被記念；反而因所行的惡、所犯的罪死亡。

所以，人若知道該行善而不去行，這就是他的罪了。

論到那些已經蒙了光照、嘗過天恩的滋味、又於聖靈有份、並嘗過神的話的美味，和來世權能的人，若再離棄真道，就不可能使他們重新懊悔了；因為他們親自把神的兒子重釘十字架，公然羞辱他。

僕人知道主人的意思，卻沒預備，又未順他的意思做，那僕人要多受責打；

但是義人若轉離他的義而作惡，我要把絆腳石放在他面前，他必死亡；因你沒有警戒他，他必死在罪中，他素來所行的義不被記念；我卻要從你手裏討他的血債。

這樣看來，律法是聖的，誡命也是聖的、義的、善的。

耶穌對他們說：「你們若是失明的，就沒有罪了；但現在你們說『我們能看見』，你們的罪還在。」

並那些轉去不跟從耶和華，不尋求耶和華，也不求問他的。」

我若沒有來教導他們，他們就沒有罪；但如今他們的罪無可推諉了。

白髮是榮耀的冠冕，行在公義道上的，必能得着。

你們原知道，我們憑主耶穌傳給你們甚麼命令。

因為約翰到你們這裏來指引你們走義路，你們卻不信他，稅吏和娼妓倒信了他。你們看見了以後，還是不悔悟去信他。」

他口中的言語盡是罪孽詭詐，他不再有智慧，也不再行善。他在床上圖謀罪孽，定意行不善的道，不憎惡惡事。

在公義的路上有生命；在其道上並無死亡。

我看見她被污辱，姊妹二人同行一路。

至於那偏行彎曲道路的人，耶和華必將他們和作惡的人一同驅逐出去。願平安歸於以色列！

迦百農啊，你以為要被舉到天上嗎？你要被推下陰間！因為在你那裏所行的異能，若行在所多瑪，它還可以存留到今日。但我告訴你們，在審判的日子，所多瑪地方所受的，比你們還容易受呢！」
