But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey— an animal without speech— who spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

But a donkey corrected him for the wrong he did. Animals don’t speak. But the donkey spoke with a human voice. It tried to stop the prophet from doing a very dumb thing.

巴蘭清早起來，備好驢，跟摩押的使臣去了。巴蘭這一去，激怒了上帝。巴蘭騎著驢，帶著兩個僕人正走在途中，耶和華的天使攔住他的去路。驢看見耶和華的天使持刀攔在路上，就離開大路，跑進田間。巴蘭鞭打牠，要牠回到路上。耶和華的天使又站在葡萄園之間的一條窄路上，兩邊都是牆。驢看見耶和華的天使，就靠著牆邊走，將巴蘭的腳擠傷了。巴蘭又鞭打牠。耶和華的天使又走到前面，站在狹窄之處，兩邊都無側身通過的餘地。驢看見耶和華的天使，就臥在地上，巴蘭大怒，便用杖打牠。耶和華使驢開口對巴蘭說：「我做錯了什麼，你竟打我三次！」巴蘭說：「因為你戲弄我。如果我手中有刀，早就把你宰了！」驢對巴蘭說：「我是你從小就騎的驢，我可曾這樣對你？」巴蘭說：「沒有。」那時，耶和華開了巴蘭的眼，他才看見耶和華的天使持刀攔在路上，便俯伏在地。耶和華的天使對他說：「你為何三次打你的驢？我特意來阻擋你，因為你走的路在我眼中是邪路。你的驢看見我，一連躲避了三次，驢若沒有躲開，我早已殺了你，只放過驢。」

我多次在各會堂懲罰他們，逼他們說褻瀆的話，我對他們深惡痛絕，甚至到國外的城鎮去追捕、迫害他們。

這時，非斯都打斷保羅的申辯，大聲說：「保羅，你瘋了！一定是你的學問太大，使你神經錯亂了！」保羅說：「非斯都大人，我沒有瘋。我講的話真實、合理。

在日光之下有一件可悲的事，就是人最終的命運都一樣。再者，人內心都充滿邪惡，活著的時候行事狂妄，最後都步入死亡。

我用心去認識、探究、追尋智慧和事物的原委，並去認識邪惡帶來的愚昧和無知帶來的狂妄。

如果你們不能忠心地處理今世的財富，誰會把真正的財富交託給你們呢？

以色列人受懲罰的日子近了，遭報應的時候到了！這點你們要知道。你們罪惡深重，充滿憎恨，以致你們說：「先知是傻瓜，被靈感動的人是瘋子。」
