For if these things are really yours and are continually increasing, they will keep you from becoming ineffective and unproductive in your pursuit of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ more intimately.

爾有此、且充溢、則識我主耶穌基督而不怠荒、無不結果、

爾等苟能存養此等美德、使之發榮滋長於爾內心、則體認吾主耶穌基督、自覺日益親切、欲罷不能、必不致華而不實也。

For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

All these things should describe you more and more. They will make you useful and fruitful as you know our Lord Jesus Christ better.

He takes away every branch that does not bear fruit in me. He prunes every branch that bears fruit so that it will bear more fruit.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and exhorting one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, all with grace in your hearts to God.

Here is another way that our people can learn to engage in good works to meet pressing needs and so not be unfruitful.

so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherit the promises.

So then, dear brothers and sisters, be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

I pray that the faith you share with us may deepen your understanding of every blessing that belongs to you in Christ.

And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight

May grace and peace be lavished on you as you grow in the rich knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord!

For if we are out of our minds, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.For the love of Christ controls us, since we have concluded this, that Christ died for all; therefore all have died.And he died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised.So then from now on we acknowledge no one from an outward human point of view. Even though we have known Christ from such a human point of view, now we do not know him in that way any longer.So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away– look, what is new has come!

But as you excel in everything– in faith, in speech, in knowledge, and in all eagerness and in the love from us that is in you– make sure that you excel in this act of kindness too.

When it was about nine o’clock in the morning, he went out again and saw others standing around in the marketplace without work.

Put yourselves to the test to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize regarding yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you– unless, indeed, you fail the test!

And besides that, going around from house to house they learn to be lazy, and they are not only lazy, but also gossips and busybodies, talking about things they should not.

Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord.

that during a severe ordeal of suffering, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in the wealth of their generosity.

Laziness brings on a deep sleep, and the idle person will go hungry.

And about five o’clock that afternoon he went out and found others standing around, and said to them,‘ Why are you standing here all day without work?’

But his master answered,‘ Evil and lazy slave! So you knew that I harvest where I didn’t sow and gather where I didn’t scatter?

The seed sown among thorns is the person who hears the word, but worldly cares and the seductiveness of wealth choke the word, so it produces nothing.

And may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we do for you,

And in their prayers on your behalf they long for you because of the extraordinary grace God has shown to you.

If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown out like a branch, and dries up; and such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and are burned up.If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you.My Father is honored by this, that you bear much fruit and show that you are my disciples.

but I know you, that you do not have the love of God within you.

rooted and built up in him and firm in your faith just as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had,

We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater.

Finally then, brothers and sisters, we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received instruction from us about how you must live and please God( as you are in fact living) that you do so more and more.
