且由是錫以寶貴豐厚之許、俾爾得脫在世因慾之敗壞、克與夫上帝之性、

許我尊榮景福、不為斯世惡俗所囿、於上帝之性情、是則是傚、

又以己之榮與德、許我以至大至寶之恩、使我儕我儕原文作爾曹賴此得脫斯世由慾而生之敗壞、得與天主同性、

賴斯大榮大德、吾人復受有無上無疆之恩諾、俾吾人脫世俗縱情恣慾之腐敗惡習、得躋於神化之境、而融於天主之性。

Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

He has also given us his very great and valuable promises. He did it so you could share in his nature. You can share in it because you’ve escaped from the evil in the world. This evil is caused by sinful desires.

你们要把自己的心志更新，并且穿上新我；这新我是照着上帝的形像造的，有从真理来的公义和圣洁。

我必洒清水在你们身上，你们就洁净了。我要洁净你们，使你们脱离一切的污秽，弃绝一切的偶像。我也要赐给你们一颗新心，将新灵放在你们里面，又从你们的肉体中除掉石心，赐给你们肉心。我必将我的灵放在你们里面，使你们顺从我的律例，谨守遵行我的典章。

肉身之父都是短时间随己意管教我们，惟有灵性之父管教我们是要我们得益处，使我们在他的圣洁上有份。

既然我们众人以揭去面纱的脸得以看见主的荣光，好像从镜子里返照，就变成了与主有同样的形像，荣上加荣，如同从主的灵变成的。

穿上了新人，这新人照着造他的主的形像在知识上不断地更新。

所以主说：“你们务要从他们中间出来，跟他们分别；不要沾不洁净的东西，我就收纳你们。我要作你们的父，你们要作我的儿女。这是全能的主说的。”所以，亲爱的，既然我们有这样的应许，就当洁净自己，除去身体和灵魂一切的污秽，藉着敬畏上帝，得以成圣。

他们说虚妄夸大的话，用肉体的情欲和淫荡的事引诱那些刚脱离错谬生活的人。他们应许人自由，自己却作了腐败的奴隶，因为人被谁制伏就是谁的奴隶。倘若他们因认识我们的主和救主耶稣基督而得以脱离世上的污秽，后来又被污秽缠住，被制伏，他们末后的景况就比先前更不好了。

顺着肉体撒种的，必从肉体收败坏；顺着圣灵撒种的，必从圣灵收永生。

凡接纳他的，就是信他名的人，他就赐他们权柄作上帝的儿女。这些人不是从血生的，不是从情欲生的，也不是从人的意愿生的，而是从上帝生的。

如今耶稣已经得了更优越的事奉，正如他作更美之约的中保；这约原是凭更美之应许立的。第一个约若没有瑕疵，就无须寻求第二个约了。所以上帝指责他们说：“主说，看哪，日子将到，我要与以色列家和犹大家另立新的约；不像我拉着他们祖宗的手领他们出埃及地的时候，与他们所立的约；因为他们不恒心守我的约，所以我也不理他们；这是主说的。主又说：那些日子以后，我与以色列家所立的约是这样：我要将我的律法放在他们的心思里，写在他们的心上；我要作他们的上帝，他们要作我的子民。他们各人不用教导自己的乡亲和自己的弟兄，说：你要认识主；因为从最小的到最大的，他们都要认识我。我要宽恕他们的不义，绝不再记得他们的罪恶。”

为此，基督作了新约的中保；因为他的死，赎了人在第一个约之时所犯的罪过，使蒙召的人能得着所应许永远的产业。

耶稣基督的仆人和使徒西门‧彼得写信给那因我们的上帝和救主耶稣基督的义，与我们同得一样宝贵信心的人。

使你们从今以后不再随从人的情欲，只顺从上帝的旨意，在世度余下的光阴。因为你们从前随从外邦人的心意，生活在淫荡、情欲、醉酒、荒宴、狂饮和可憎的偶像崇拜中，时候已经够了。

你们中间的冲突是哪里来的？争执是哪里来的？不是从你们肢体中交战着的私欲来的吗？你们贪恋，得不着就杀人；你们嫉妒，不能得手就起争执和冲突；你们得不着，是因为你们不求。你们求也得不着，是因为你们妄求，为了要浪费在你们的宴乐中。

上帝的应许，不论有多少，在基督都是“是”的。所以，我们藉着他说“阿们”，使上帝因我们得荣耀。

那些应许原是向亚伯拉罕和他后裔说的，并不是说“和众后裔”，指许多人，而是说“和你那个后裔”，指一个人，就是基督。

他们是以色列人，那儿子的名分、荣耀、诸约、律法的颁布、敬拜的礼仪、应许都是给他们的。
