約翰是點亮的明燈，你們情願因他的光歡欣一時。

那坐在黑暗裏的百姓看見了大光；坐在死蔭之地的人有光照耀他們。」

因為誡命是燈，教誨是光，管教的責備是生命的道，

耶穌又對眾人說：「我就是世界的光。跟從我的，必不在黑暗裏走，卻要得着生命的光。」

興起，發光！因為你的光已來到！耶和華的榮光發出照耀着你。看哪，黑暗籠罩大地，幽暗遮蓋萬民，耶和華卻要升起照耀你，他的榮光要顯在你身上。

就是禁戒偶像所玷污的東西、血和勒死的牲畜，禁戒淫亂。這幾件你們若能自己禁戒就好了。祝你們安康！」

這地方的猶太人比帖撒羅尼迦的人開明，熱心領受這道，天天查考聖經，要知道這道是否真實。

信上帝兒子的，就有這見證在他心裏；不信上帝的，就是把上帝當作說謊的，因為不信上帝為他兒子作的見證。

所以，不要與他們同夥。從前你們是暗昧的，但如今在主裏面是光明的，行事為人要像光明的子女－

耶和華說：「你們要呈上你們的案件。」雅各的君王說：「你們要提出你們的理由。」讓它們近前來，告訴我們將來要發生甚麼事！你們要說明先前發生的事，好讓我們思索；或者告訴我們將來的事，使我們得知事情的結局。你們要指明未來的事，使我們知道你們是神明！你們或降福，或降禍，好使我們驚奇，一同觀看。

耶和華的律法全備，使人甦醒；耶和華的法度確定，使愚蒙人有智慧。耶和華的訓詞正直，使人心快活；耶和華的命令清潔，使人眼目明亮。耶和華的典章真實，全然公義，敬畏耶和華是純潔的，存到永遠，

經上記着：「要愛鄰如己」，你們若切實守這至尊的律法，你們就做得很好。
