在他們、今世的神已把不信之人的心意弄瞎了，以致基督（上帝的像）榮耀之福音之光照不能發曉於他們心裏。我們並不是宣傳自己，乃是宣傳基督耶穌為主，自己又為了耶穌的緣故做你們的僕人。因為那吩咐『光當從暗中照出來』的上帝照澈了我們心裏，使我們在耶穌基督臉上接受了上帝之榮耀之認識之光照。

這都是因了我們的上帝憐憫的心腸；由於此、昇起來的光就要從高處眷顧我們，照亮那坐在黑暗中死陰影裏的人，引導我們的腳進平安的路。』

那個人是點𤏲而發亮的燈，你們情願暫時以他的光為歡樂。

住在暗中的人民看見了大光；住在死地死陰影裏的人、有光昇現、照着他們。』

因為誡命是燈；指教是光；管教之勸責是人生之道路；

於是耶穌又對眾人講論說：『我是世界的光，跟從我的一定不在黑暗裏走，卻要得着生命之光。』］

起來，發光哦！因為你的光已經來到，永恆主的榮耀已經昇現照耀着你。因為你看，黑暗遮蓋着大地呢，幽暗籠罩着萬國之民呢；但永恆主卻要昇現照耀着你，他的榮耀必顯現來照着你。

就是禁喫祭偶像的東西和血、跟勒死的動物，又禁戒淫亂：這幾件，請你們自己禁絕不犯，好好地實行。願你們安康！』

這裏的人比在帖撒羅尼迦的高尚；他們很熱心地接受這道，天天考查經典、看這些事是不是這樣。

信上帝兒子的、有這見證在他心裏；不信上帝的、已將上帝當做撒謊的了，因為他不信上帝為他兒子所作的見證。

所以別和他們同夥了。因為你們從前是黑暗，如今在主裏乃是光；行事為人總要像光的兒女

永恆主對假神說：呈上你們的案件吧！雅各的王說：提出你們最有力的辯護吧！讓他們提出，並告訴我們所要發生的事。把先前的事是甚麼事告訴我們，好讓我們用心思想，好知道其結局；或者把將來的事說給我們聽聽！把此後要來的事說明說明！好叫我們知道你們是神；啊，降福或降禍吧，使我們彷徨張望，同時又懼怕呀！

永恆主的律法完全，能使人精神甦醒；永恆主的法度確定，能使愚直人有智慧。永恆主的訓令正直，能使人的心歡喜；永恆主的誡命清潔，能使人眼目明亮。敬畏永恆主的道理是潔淨的，它立定到永遠；永恆主的典章真實，一概公義。

固然囉，你們如果依照經上所記『愛鄰舍如同你自己』的話、行盡了賦有王權的律法，那好極了！
