For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would not be made of no effect.

And He was transfigured before them;

“ But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderer’s soap.

Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,and saying,“ Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue just as they were from the beginning of creation.”

but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block, and to Gentiles foolishness,

And as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

“ Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”Six days later, Jesus* took with Him Peter and James, and his brother John, and* led them up on a high mountain by themselves.And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light.And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.Peter responded and said to Jesus,“ Lord, it is good that we are here. If You want, I will make three tabernacles here: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said,“ This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him!”When the disciples heard this, they fell face down to the ground and were terrified.And Jesus came to them and touched them and said,“ Get up, and do not be afraid.”And raising their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone.

not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.

who will transform the body of our lowly condition into conformity with His glorious body, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in trickery nor distorting the word of God, but by the open proclamation of the truth commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in the sight of God.

For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

For who is our hope, or joy or crown of pride, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming? Or is it not indeed you?

who was declared the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,

that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and false signs and wonders,

so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you eagerly await the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,“ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

just as You gave Him authority over all mankind, so that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life.

For we are not like the many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.
