For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life,

蓋知去我幕之日速矣、一如我主耶穌基督所示我者、

吾自知棄帷幕不遠、以吾主耶穌基督示我、

因知我幕將速撤、如我主耶穌基督示我者、

且知吾之脫離此宅、即在目前、正如吾主耶穌之所預示也。

because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

I know my tent will soon be removed. Our Lord Jesus Christ has made that clear to me.

since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

since I know that I will soon lay aside my tent, as our Lord Jesus Christ has indeed made clear to me.

knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me.

knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle cometh swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ signified unto me.

knowing that I will soon lay aside my tent, as our Lord Jesus Christ has also shown me.

Knowing that shortly I must put off[ this] my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

since I know that my tabernacle will soon be removed, because our Lord Jesus Christ revealed this to me.

knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near.

“ I tell you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will dress you and take you where you don’t want to go.”Jesus said this to let him know by what kind of death he would glorify God. Then Jesus told him,“ Follow me.”

“ But the Lord was angry with me because of you. He vowed that I would not cross the Jordan River into the good land the Lord your God is giving you as your special possession.You will cross the Jordan to occupy the land, but I will not. Instead, I will die here on the east side of the river.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ The time has come for you to die. Call Joshua and present yourselves at the Tabernacle, so that I may commission him there.” So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the Tabernacle.

“ Soon I will die, going the way of everything on earth. Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed!

“ And now I know that none of you to whom I have preached the Kingdom will ever see me again.

“ I am going where everyone on earth must someday go. Take courage and be a man.Observe the requirements of the Lord your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.
