I, Simon Peter, am writing this letter. I serve Jesus Christ. I am his apostle. I am sending this letter to you. You are those who have received a faith as valuable as ours. You received it because our God and Savior Jesus Christ does what is right.

while we wait for the blessed hope— the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,

But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood— to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

It is written:“ I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak,

that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God—

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,

Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”

To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed:

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.

These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon( who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John;

Because of this, God in his wisdom said,‘ I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and others they will persecute.’

Again Jesus said,“ Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”

In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.’

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God— that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ— the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.

I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us.He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith.

For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him,

And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which, when translated, is Peter).

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed— a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written:“ The righteous will live by faith.”

“ Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat.But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”But he replied,“ Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.”Jesus answered,“ I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.”

For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle to the Gentiles.

For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said,“ you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my lambs.”Again Jesus said,“ Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered,“ Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Take care of my sheep.”The third time he said to him,“ Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,“ Do you love me?” He said,“ Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my sheep.

Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not the result of my work in the Lord?

one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith— of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire— may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Simon has described to us how God first intervened to choose a people for his name from the Gentiles.

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness—

Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,“ The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”
