况且你们打发使者去请人从远方来；使者到了他们那里，他们就来了。为了他们，你们洗澡、替眼部化妆、佩戴珠宝，

照样，我也愿意女人以端正、娴淑、自律为装饰；不要以鬈发、金饰、珠宝，或名贵衣裳为装饰，却要以善行作装饰，这才配称为敬畏神的女人。

到那日，主必除掉她们华美的脚钏、发网、月牙圈、耳坠、手镯、蒙脸的帕子、头饰、脚环、华带、香盒、符囊、戒指、鼻环、美服、外衣、钱袋、镜子、细麻衬衣、头巾、蒙身帕子。必有腐臭代替馨香，绳子代替腰带，光秃代替美发，麻衣系腰代替美服，烙痕代替美貌。

不要单注重外表的装饰，就如鬈头发、戴金饰、穿华丽衣服；

亚哈把以利亚所行的一切，和他用刀杀死众先知的一切事，都告诉了耶洗别。耶洗别就差派一个使者去见以利亚说：“明天这个时候，如果我不使你的性命，像那些人一样，愿神明惩罚我，并且加倍惩罚我。”

只可静默地叹息，不可为死人哀悼；你的头上仍要缠着头巾，脚上仍要穿着鞋子；你不可蒙着脸，也不可吃为丧家预备的食物。”
