約蘭一見耶戶、就說：『耶戶啊，平安麼？』耶戶說：『甚麼呀？你母親耶洗別的淫行和邪術這麼多、還有平安麼？』

約蘭見耶戶、則曰、耶戶歟、安否、曰、爾母耶洗別、淫行巫術若是之多、焉得安乎、

約藍見耶戶、則曰耶戶、爾為平康而至乎。曰、王母耶洗別、狥私欲、拜偶像、從巫覡、若是之多、焉得平康乎。

約蘭見耶戶則曰、耶戶平安否、曰、爾母耶洗別之邪淫巫術、如是之多、焉能平安乎、

When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Have you come in peace, Jehu?”“ How can there be peace,” Jehu replied,“ as long as all the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel abound?”

When Joram saw Jehu he asked,“ Have you come here in peace, Jehu?”“ Your mother Jezebel worships statues of gods,” Jehu replied.“ She also worships evil powers. The evil things she does have spread everywhere. As long as all of that goes on, how can there be peace?”

And when Joram saw Jehu, he said,“ Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered,“ What peace can there be, so long as the whorings and the sorceries of your mother Jezebel are so many?”

King Joram demanded,“ Do you come in peace, Jehu?” Jehu replied,“ How can there be peace as long as the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother, Jezebel, are all around us?”

When Joram saw Jehu, he said,“ Is your intention peace, Jehu?” And he answered,“ What‘ peace,’ so long as your mother Jezebel’s acts of prostitution and witchcraft are so many?”

Now it happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said,“ Is it peace, Jehu?” So he answered,“ What peace, as long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?”

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

When Jehoram saw Jehu, he asked,“ Is everything all right, Jehu?” He replied,“ How can everything be all right as long as your mother Jezebel promotes idolatry and pagan practices?”

When Joram saw Jehu, he said,“ Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered,“ What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”

But Ahab son of Omri did what was evil in the LORD’s sight more than all who were before him.Then, as if following the sin of Jeroboam son of Nebat were not enough, he married Jezebel, the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and then proceeded to serve Baal and bow in worship to him.He set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal that he had built in Samaria.Ahab also made an Asherah pole. Ahab did more to anger the LORD God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

the light of a lamp will never shine in you again; and the voice of a groom and bride will never be heard in you again. All this will happen because your merchants were the nobility of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery.

but have walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, have caused Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves like the house of Ahab prostituted itself, and also have killed your brothers, your father’s family, who were better than you,

Because of the continual prostitution of the prostitute, the attractive mistress of sorcery, who treats nations and clans like merchandise by her prostitution and sorcery,

For all the nations have drunk the wine of her sexual immorality, which brings wrath. The kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown wealthy from her sensuality and excess.

Still, there was no one like Ahab, who devoted himself to do what was evil in the LORD’s sight, because his wife Jezebel incited him.

So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name and sealed them with his seal. She sent the letters to the elders and nobles who lived with Naboth in his city.In the letters, she wrote: Proclaim a fast and seat Naboth at the head of the people.Then seat two wicked men opposite him and have them testify against him, saying,“ You have cursed God and the king!” Then take him out and stone him to death.

and took a hundred prophets and hid them, fifty men to a cave, and provided them with food and water when Jezebel slaughtered the LORD’s prophets.

Now summon all Israel to meet me at Mount Carmel, along with the 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of Asherah who eat at Jezebel’s table.”

But I have this against you: You tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and teaches and deceives my servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat meat sacrificed to idols.I gave her time to repent, but she does not want to repent of her sexual immorality.Look, I will throw her into a sickbed and those who commit adultery with her into great affliction. Unless they repent of her works,I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am the one who examines minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you according to your works.

Ahab told Jezebel everything that Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying,“ May the gods punish me and do so severely if I don’t make your life like the life of one of them by this time tomorrow!”

The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, jewels, and pearls. She had a golden cup in her hand filled with everything detestable and with the impurities of her prostitution.On her forehead was written a name, a mystery: BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE DETESTABLE THINGS OF THE EARTH.
