耶戶出來，回到他主人的臣僕那裏，有一人問他說：「平安嗎？這瘋狂的人為甚麼到你這裏來呢？」他對他們說：「你們認得那人，也知道他在胡說。」

他到了那裏，看哪，眾軍官都坐着，就說：「長官，我有話對你說。」耶戶說：「你要對我們哪一個說呢？」他說：「長官，我要對你說。」

這樣，寧示的孫子，約沙法的兒子耶戶背叛了約蘭。先前約蘭和以色列眾人因為亞蘭王哈薛的緣故，把守基列的拉末。

又膏寧示的孫子耶戶作以色列王，並膏亞伯‧米何拉人沙法的兒子以利沙作先知接續你。將來逃過哈薛之刀的，必被耶戶所殺；逃過耶戶之刀的，必被以利沙所殺。

其餘的都逃向亞弗，到了城裏，城牆倒塌，壓死了剩下的二萬七千人。便‧哈達也逃入城內，藏在嚴密的內室裏。

米該雅說：「看哪，你進入嚴密的內室躲藏的那日，就必看見。」

守望的人又說：「他到了他們那裏，也不回來。車駕得很兇猛，好像寧示的孫子耶戶在駕車。」
