主对我如此说：“你去设立守望的，使他将所看见的述说。”他看见军队，就是骑马的一对一对地来，又看见驴队，骆驼队，就要侧耳细听。他像狮子吼叫，说：“主啊，我白日常站在望楼上，整夜立在我守望所。”看哪，有一队军兵骑着马，一对一对地来。他就说：“巴比伦倾倒了！倾倒了！他一切雕刻的神像都打碎于地。”

无论进哪一家，先要说：‘愿这一家平安。’那里若有当得平安的人，你们所求的平安就必临到那家；不然，就归与你们了。

“人子啊，你要告诉本国的子民说：我使刀剑临到哪一国，那一国的民从他们中间选立一人为守望的。他见刀剑临到那地，若吹角警戒众民，凡听见角声不受警戒的，刀剑若来除灭了他，他的罪就必归到自己的头上。他听见角声，不受警戒，他的罪必归到自己的身上；他若受警戒，便是救了自己的性命。倘若守望的人见刀剑临到，不吹角，以致民不受警戒，刀剑来杀了他们中间的一个人，他虽然死在罪孽之中，我却要向守望的人讨他丧命的罪。“人子啊，我照样立你作以色列家守望的人。所以你要听我口中的话，替我警戒他们。我对恶人说：‘恶人哪，你必要死！’你以西结若不开口警戒恶人，使他离开所行的道，这恶人必死在罪孽之中，我却要向你讨他丧命的罪。倘若你警戒恶人转离所行的道，他仍不转离，他必死在罪孽之中，你却救自己脱离了罪。”

王又打发一个骑马的去。这人到了他们那里，说：“王问说，平安不平安？”耶户说：“平安不平安与你何干？你转在我后头吧！”

耶路撒冷啊，我在你城上设立守望的，他们昼夜必不静默。呼吁耶和华的，你们不要歇息，

所以我今日向你们证明，你们中间无论何人死亡，罪不在我身上。因为神的旨意，我并没有一样避讳不传给你们的。圣灵立你们作全群的监督，你们就当为自己谨慎，也为全群谨慎，牧养神的教会，就是他用自己血所买来的。我知道，我去之后必有凶暴的豺狼进入你们中间，不爱惜羊群。就是你们中间，也必有人起来说悖谬的话，要引诱门徒跟从他们。所以你们应当警醒，记念我三年之久昼夜不住地流泪、劝戒你们各人。

大卫正坐在城瓮里。守望的人上城门楼的顶上，举目观看，见有一个人独自跑来。

大卫把他带来的食物留在看守物件人的手下，跑到战场，问他哥哥们安。

于是取了两辆车和马，王差人去追寻亚兰军，说：“你们去窥探窥探。”

他看守的人是瞎眼的，都没有知识，都是哑巴狗，不能叫唤；但知做梦，躺卧，贪睡，

押沙龙逃跑了。守望的少年人举目观看，见有许多人从山坡的路上来。
