The prophet Elisha summoned a man from the company of the prophets and said to him,“ Tuck your cloak into your belt, take this flask of olive oil with you and go to Ramoth Gilead.

Elisha the prophet sent for a man from the group of the prophets. Elisha said to him,“ Tuck your coat into your belt. Take this bottle of olive oil with you. Go to Ramoth Gilead.

Then Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him,“ Tie up your garments, and take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead.

The prophet Elisha called one of the sons of the prophets and said,“ Tuck your mantle under your belt, take this flask of oil with you, and go to Ramoth-gilead.

Now Elisha the prophet summoned one of the sons of the prophets and said to him,“ Get ready and take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth gilead.

And Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this vial of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth- gilead.

Now Elisha the prophet summoned a member of the prophetic guild and told him,“ Tuck your robes into your belt, take this container of olive oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him,“ Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

Then Samuel took a flask of olive oil and poured it over Saul’s head. He kissed Saul and said,“ I am doing this because the Lord has appointed you to be the ruler over Israel, his special possession.

Then Elisha said to Gehazi,“ Get ready to travel; take my staff and go! Don’t talk to anyone along the way. Go quickly and lay the staff on the child’s face.”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ You have mourned long enough for Saul. I have rejected him as king of Israel, so fill your flask with olive oil and go to Bethlehem. Find a man named Jesse who lives there, for I have selected one of his sons to be my king.”

Ahaziah joined Joram son of Ahab in his war against King Hazael of Aram at Ramoth gilead. When the Arameans wounded King Joram in the battle,he returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds he had received at Ramoth. Because Joram was wounded, King Ahaziah of Judah went to Jezreel to visit him.

There Zadok the priest took the flask of olive oil from the sacred tent and anointed Solomon with the oil. Then they sounded the ram’s horn and all the people shouted,“ Long live King Solomon!”

Then the Lord gave special strength to Elijah. He tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab’s chariot all the way to the entrance of Jezreel.

“ Get up and prepare for action. Go out and tell them everything I tell you to say. Do not be afraid of them, or I will make you look foolish in front of them.

So prepare your minds for action and exercise self control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.

Then he turned to Jehoshaphat and asked,“ Will you join me in battle to recover Ramoth gilead?” Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel,“ Why, of course! You and I are as one. My troops are your troops, and my horses are your horses.”

“ Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning,as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and knocks.The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat!

“ You saw for yourself what the Lord did to you at Baal peor. There the Lord your God destroyed everyone who had worshiped Baal, the god of Peor.

One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out,“ My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the Lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.”

The group of prophets from Bethel came to Elisha and asked him,“ Did you know that the Lord is going to take your master away from you today?”“ Of course I know,” Elisha answered.“ But be quiet about it.”

One day the group of prophets came to Elisha and told him,“ As you can see, this place where we meet with you is too small.Let’s go down to the Jordan River, where there are plenty of logs. There we can build a new place for us to meet.”“ All right,” he told them,“ go ahead.”“ Please come with us,” someone suggested.“ I will,” he said.

And the Lord said,‘ Who can entice Ahab to go into battle against Ramoth gilead so he can be killed?’“ There were many suggestions,

Meanwhile, the Lord instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man,“ Hit me!” But the man refused to hit the prophet.

“ And now, Israel, listen carefully to these decrees and regulations that I am about to teach you. Obey them so that you may live, so you may enter and occupy the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.
