The prophet Elisha summoned a man from the company of the prophets and said to him,“ Tuck your cloak into your belt, take this flask of olive oil with you and go to Ramoth Gilead.

Elisha the prophet sent for a man from the group of the prophets. Elisha said to him,“ Tuck your coat into your belt. Take this bottle of olive oil with you. Go to Ramoth Gilead.

Then Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him,“ Tie up your garments, and take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead.

Meanwhile, Elisha the prophet had summoned a member of the group of prophets.“ Get ready to travel,” he told him,“ and take this flask of olive oil with you. Go to Ramoth gilead,

The prophet Elisha called one of the sons of the prophets and said,“ Tuck your mantle under your belt, take this flask of oil with you, and go to Ramoth-gilead.

Now Elisha the prophet summoned one of the sons of the prophets and said to him,“ Get ready and take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth gilead.

And Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him,“ Get yourself ready, take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

And Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this vial of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth- gilead.

Then Samuel took a small container of olive oil and poured it on Saul’s head. Samuel kissed him and said,“ The LORD has chosen you to lead his people Israel! You will rule over the LORD’s people and you will deliver them from the power of the enemies who surround them. This will be your sign that the LORD has chosen you as leader over his inheritance.

Elisha told Gehazi,“ Tuck your robes into your belt, take my staff, and go! Don’t stop to exchange greetings with anyone! Place my staff on the child’s face.”

The LORD said to Samuel,“ How long do you intend to mourn for Saul? I have rejected him as king over Israel. Fill your horn with olive oil and go! I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem, for I have selected a king for myself from among his sons.”

He joined Ahab’s son Joram in a battle against King Hazael of Syria at Ramoth Gilead in which the Syrians defeated Joram.King Joram returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds he received from the Syrians in Ramah when he fought against King Hazael of Syria. King Ahaziah son of Jehoram of Judah went down to visit Joram son of Ahab in Jezreel, for he was ill.

Zadok the priest took a horn filled with olive oil from the tent and poured it on Solomon; the trumpet was blown and all the people declared,“ Long live King Solomon!”

Now the LORD energized Elijah with power; he tucked his robe into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.

“ But you, Jeremiah, get yourself ready! Go and tell these people everything I instruct you to say. Do not be terrified of them, or I will give you good reason to be terrified of them.

Therefore, get your minds ready for action by being fully sober, and set your hope completely on the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Then he said to Jehoshaphat,“ Will you go with me to attack Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel,“ I will support you; my army and horses are at your disposal.”

“ Get dressed for service and keep your lamps burning;be like people waiting for their master to come back from the wedding celebration, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.Blessed are those slaves whom their master finds alert when he returns! I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, have them take their place at the table, and will come and wait on them!

You have witnessed what the LORD did at Baal Peor, how he eradicated from your midst everyone who followed Baal Peor.

Now a wife of one of the prophets appealed to Elisha for help, saying,“ Your servant, my husband is dead. You know that your servant was a loyal follower of the LORD. Now the creditor is coming to take away my two boys to be his servants.”

Some members of the prophetic guild in Bethel came out to Elisha and said,“ Do you know that today the LORD is going to take your master from you?” He answered,“ Yes, I know. Be quiet.”

Some of the prophets said to Elisha,“ Look, the place where we meet with you is too cramped for us.Let’s go to the Jordan. Each of us will get a log from there and we will build a meeting place for ourselves there.” He said,“ Go.”One of them said,“ Please come along with your servants.” He replied,“ All right, I’ll come.”

The LORD said,‘ Who will deceive Ahab, so he will attack Ramoth Gilead and die there?’ One said this and another that.

One of the members of the prophetic guild, speaking with divine authority, ordered his companion,“ Wound me!” But the man refused to wound him.

Now, Israel, pay attention to the statutes and ordinances I am about to teach you, so that you might live and go on to enter and take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.
