Elisha went to Damascus, and Ben-Hadad king of Aram was ill. When the king was told,“ The man of God has come all the way up here,”

Now Elisha came to Damascus. Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick. And when it was told him,“ The man of God has come here,”

Elisha went to Damascus, the capital of Aram, where King Ben hadad lay sick. When someone told the king that the man of God had come,

Elisha came to Damascus while King Ben-hadad of Aram was sick, and the king was told,“ The man of God has come here.”

Then Elisha came to Damascus. Now Ben hadad, the king of Aram, was sick, and it was told to him, saying,“ The man of God has come here.”

後來，亞蘭王便．哈達徵召他全部的軍隊上來圍困撒瑪利亞。

大衛擊殺瑣巴人的時候，利遜招聚了一些人，自己作了這些土匪的領袖。他前往大馬士革，住在那裡，又在大馬士革作王。

亞蘭王便．哈達聚集他的全軍，有三十二個王與他在一起，他帶著戰馬和戰車，上去圍困撒瑪利亞，攻打那城。

因為亞蘭的首都是大馬士革，大馬士革的首領是利汛；六十五年之內，以法蓮必定毀滅，不再成為一族之民。

他的一位臣僕說：“我主我王啊！不是的；只不過是以色列的以利沙先知，把你在你臥室內所說的話，告知了以色列王。”

便．哈達對王說：“我父親從你父親奪得的眾城，我都必還給你；你可以為自己在大馬士革設立市場，像我父親在撒瑪利亞設立市場一樣。”亞哈說：“我與你立了這樣的約，就放你去。”於是他和便．哈達立了約，就放他走了。

有一個神人，奉耶和華的命令，從猶大來到伯特利；那時，耶羅波安正站在祭壇旁邊燒香。

亞伯蘭和他的僕人趁夜分隊攻擊他們，結果擊敗了他們，又追趕他們直到大馬士革北面的何把，

這是神人摩西，在死前給以色列人所祝的福。

那些耶利哥的先知門徒在遠處看見，就說：“以利亞的靈在以利沙身上了。”他們就來迎接他，俯伏在地拜他。

有人告訴迦薩人說：“參孫到這裡來了。”他們就把他圍住，整夜在城門口埋伏著，整夜默不作聲，心裡說：“等到早晨天亮，我們才殺他。”

於是王差派一個五十夫長和他的五十名手下到以利亞那裡；那位五十夫長就上到以利亞那裡去。他看見以利亞正坐在山頂上，就對以利亞說：“神人哪！王吩咐你下來。”以利亞回答五十夫長說：“如果我是神人，願火從天降下，把你和你的五十名手下吞滅。”於是有火從天降下，吞滅了五十夫長和他的五十名手下。

搜索不到他們，就把耶孫和幾個弟兄，拉到地方長官那裡，喊叫著說：“這些擾亂天下的人，也到這裡來了，

於是亞撒把耶和華殿和王宮的府庫裡所剩下的金銀，都交在他臣僕的手中。亞撒王差派他們到大馬士革的亞蘭王，希旬的孫子、他伯利們的兒子便．哈達那裡去，說：
