Ahaziah went with Joram son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead. The Arameans wounded Joram;

He went with Joram the son of Ahab to make war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead, and the Syrians wounded Joram.

次日，哈薛拿被子浸在水中，蒙住王的脸，王就死了。于是哈薛篡了他的位。

以色列王对臣仆说：“你们不知道基列的拉末是属我们的吗？我们岂可不采取行动，把它从亚兰王手里夺回来呢？”亚哈问约沙法说：“你肯同我去攻打基列的拉末吗？”约沙法对以色列王说：“你我不分彼此，我的军队就是你的军队，我的马就是你的马。”

哈薛说：“我主为什么哭？”他说：“因为我知道你必虐待以色列人，用火焚烧他们的堡垒，用刀杀死他们的壮丁，摔死他们的婴孩，剖开他们的孕妇。”哈薛说：“仆人算什么，不过是一条狗，怎么能行这大事呢？”以利沙说：“耶和华指示我，你必作亚兰王。”

哈拿尼的儿子耶户先见出来迎接约沙法王，对他说：“你怎么可以帮助恶人，爱那恨耶和华的人呢？因此耶和华的愤怒临到你了。

他向前行，派人到犹大王约沙法那里，说：“摩押王背叛我，你肯同我去攻打摩押吗？”约沙法说：“我肯上去，你我不分彼此，我的军队就是你的军队，我的马就是你的马。”

过了几年，他下到撒玛利亚去见亚哈；亚哈为他和跟从他的人宰了许多牛羊，劝他一同上去攻打基列的拉末。以色列王亚哈问犹大王约沙法说：“你肯同我去攻打基列的拉末吗？”他回答说：“你我不分彼此，我的军队就是你的军队，我们必与你一同去争战。”

后来约兰王回到耶斯列，医治他与亚兰王哈薛打仗时，被亚兰人击打所受的伤。耶户说：“若你们有这样的意思，就不要让人溜出城，到耶斯列去报信。”

以色列王和犹大王约沙法上基列的拉末去。

将来逃过哈薛之刀的，必被耶户所杀；逃过耶户之刀的，必被以利沙所杀。
