But Jehoram followed the example of the kings of Israel and was as wicked as King Ahab, for he had married one of Ahab’s daughters. So Jehoram did what was evil in the Lord’s sight.

You are to destroy the house of Ahab your master, and I will avenge the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the Lord’s servants shed by Jezebel.The whole house of Ahab will perish. I will cut off from Ahab every last male in Israel— slave or free.

Now Jehoshaphat had great wealth and honor, and he allied himself with Ahab by marriage.

The people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, Jehoram’s youngest son, king in his place, since the raiders, who came with the Arabs into the camp, had killed all the older sons. His mother’s name was Athaliah, a granddaughter of Omri.He too followed the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother encouraged him to act wickedly.He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as the house of Ahab had done, for after his father’s death they became his advisers, to his undoing.

Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons,for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you.

When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them,the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.Then the Lord said,“ My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”The Nephilim were on the earth in those days— and also afterward— when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.
