哈薛说：“仆人算什么，不过是一条狗，怎么能行这大事呢？”以利沙说：“耶和华指示我，你必作亚兰王。”

雅比的儿子沙龙背叛他，在百姓面前击杀他，篡了他的位。撒迦利雅其余的事，看哪，都写在《以色列诸王记》上。这就是耶和华应许耶户的话：“你的子孙必坐以色列的王位，直到第四代。”这事果然发生了。犹大王乌西雅第三十九年，雅比的儿子沙龙登基，在撒玛利亚作王一个月。迦底的儿子米拿现从得撒上撒玛利亚，杀了雅比的儿子沙龙，篡了他的位。

心利进去击杀他，把他杀死，篡了他的位。这是犹大王亚撒第二十七年的事。

大卫的人对大卫说：“看哪，这日子到了！耶和华曾对你说：‘看哪，我要将你的仇敌交在你手里，你可以照你看为好的对待他。’”大卫就起来，悄悄地割下扫罗外袍的衣角。随后大卫心中自责，因为他割下了扫罗的衣角。他对他的人说：“耶和华绝不允许我对我的主，耶和华的受膏者做这事，伸手害他，因为他是耶和华的受膏者。”大卫用这话劝阻他的人，不许他们起来害扫罗。扫罗起来，从洞里出去，预备上路。

尼八的儿子耶罗波安也举起手来攻击王。他是所罗门的臣仆，以法莲支派的洗利达人；他母亲是个寡妇，名叫洗鲁阿。他举手攻击王是因先前所罗门建造米罗，修补他父亲大卫城缺口的这件事。耶罗波安是个大有才能的人。所罗门见这青年殷勤，就派他监管约瑟家所有服劳役的工人。那时，耶罗波安出了耶路撒冷，示罗人亚希雅先知在路上遇见他；亚希雅身上穿着一件新衣。田野中只有他们二人，没有其他的人。亚希雅拿起穿在自己身上的新衣，把它撕成十二片，对耶罗波安说：“你可以拿十片。耶和华—以色列的上帝如此说：‘看哪，我必从所罗门手里撕裂这国，把十个支派赐给你。我因我仆人大卫和我在以色列众支派中所选择的耶路撒冷城的缘故，仍为所罗门留一个支派。因为他们离弃我，敬拜西顿人的女神亚斯她录、摩押的神明基抹和亚扪人的神明米勒公，没有像他父亲大卫一样遵从我的道，行我眼中看为正的事，守我的律例典章。但我不从他手里夺走整个国家，却使他在活着的日子作君王，是因我所拣选的仆人大卫遵守我的诫命律例。我必从他儿子手里将王国夺走，赐给你十个支派，只留一个支派给他的儿子，使我仆人大卫在我所选择立我名的耶路撒冷城那里，在我面前常有灯光。我选你，使你照你心里一切所愿的作王，成为以色列的王。

比加辖的将军，利玛利的儿子比加背叛他，在撒玛利亚王宫的堡垒杀了他。亚珥歌伯和亚利耶并基列的五十人帮助比加；比加击杀他，篡了他的位。

犹大王亚撒第三年，巴沙杀了拿答，篡了他的位。

古人有句俗语说：‘恶事出于恶人。’我却不亲手加害于你。

耶西就派人去叫他来。他面色红润，双目清秀，容貌俊美。耶和华说：“起来，膏他，因为这就是他了。”撒母耳就用角里的膏油，在他的兄长中膏了他。从这日起，耶和华的灵就大大感动大卫。撒母耳起身回拉玛去了。

他在床上图谋罪孽，定意行不善的道，不憎恶恶事。

耶户全力拉弓，射中约兰两臂中间，箭从心窝穿出，约兰就仆倒在车上。

祸哉，那些在床上图谋罪孽、筹划恶事的人！天一亮，他们因手中有能力就去行恶。

乌西雅的儿子约坦第二十年，以拉的儿子何细亚背叛利玛利的儿子比加，击杀他，篡了他的位。

大卫对亚比筛说：“不可杀害他！有谁伸手害耶和华的受膏者而无罪呢？”大卫又说：“我指着永生的耶和华起誓，他或被耶和华击杀，或死期到了，或出战阵亡，耶和华绝不允许我伸手害耶和华的受膏者。现在你可以把他头旁的枪和水壶拿来，我们就走。”

心利见城被攻陷，就进了王宫的堡垒，放火焚烧宫殿，自焚而死。

祸哉！你这未遭毁灭而毁灭人的人，人未以诡诈待你而你以诡诈待人的人！等你行完了毁灭，自己必被毁灭；你行完了诡诈，人必以诡诈待你。
