哈薛说：“你仆人算什么，不过是一条狗，焉能行这大事呢？”以利沙回答说：“耶和华指示我，你必作亚兰王。”

耶和华对他说：“你回去，从旷野往大马士革去。到了那里，就要膏哈薛作亚兰王，

雅比的儿子沙龙背叛他，在百姓面前击杀他，篡了他的位。撒迦利雅其余的事都写在以色列诸王记上。这是从前耶和华应许耶户说：“你的子孙必坐以色列的国位直到四代。”这话果然应验了。犹大王乌西雅三十九年，雅比的儿子沙龙登基在撒玛利亚作王一个月。迦底的儿子米拿现从得撒上撒玛利亚，杀了雅比的儿子沙龙，篡了他的位。

心利就进去杀了他，篡了他的位。这是犹大王亚撒二十七年的事。

跟随的人对大卫说：“耶和华曾应许你说：‘我要将你的仇敌交在你手里，你可以任意待他。’如今时候到了！”大卫就起来，悄悄地割下扫罗外袍的衣襟。随后大卫心中自责，因为割下扫罗的衣襟；对跟随他的人说：“我的主乃是耶和华的受膏者，我在耶和华面前万不敢伸手害他，因他是耶和华的受膏者。”大卫用这话拦住跟随他的人，不容他们起来害扫罗。扫罗起来，从洞里出去行路。

所罗门的臣仆、尼八的儿子耶罗波安也举手攻击王。他是以法莲支派的洗利达人，他母亲是寡妇，名叫洗鲁阿。他举手攻击王的缘故，乃由先前所罗门建造米罗，修补他父亲大卫城的破口。耶罗波安是大有才能的人。所罗门见这少年人殷勤，就派他监管约瑟家的一切工程。一日，耶罗波安出了耶路撒冷，示罗人先知亚希雅在路上遇见他；亚希雅身上穿着一件新衣。他们二人在田野，以外并无别人。亚希雅将自己穿的那件新衣撕成十二片，对耶罗波安说：“你可以拿十片。耶和华以色列的神如此说：‘我必将国从所罗门手里夺回，将十个支派赐给你。（我因仆人大卫和我在以色列众支派中所选择的耶路撒冷城的缘故，仍给所罗门留一个支派。）因为他离弃我，敬拜西顿人的女神亚斯他录、摩押的神基抹，和亚扪人的神米勒公，没有遵从我的道，行我眼中看为正的事，守我的律例典章，像他父亲大卫一样。但我不从他手里将全国夺回；使他终身为君，是因我所拣选的仆人大卫谨守我的诫命律例。我必从他儿子的手里将国夺回，以十个支派赐给你，还留一个支派给他的儿子，使我仆人大卫在我所选择立我名的耶路撒冷城里，在我面前长有灯光。我必拣选你，使你照心里一切所愿的，作王治理以色列。

比加辖的将军、利玛利的儿子比加背叛他，在撒玛利亚王宫里的卫所杀了他。亚珥歌伯和亚利耶并基列的五十人帮助比加；比加击杀他，篡了他的位。

在犹大王亚撒第三年巴沙杀了他，篡了他的位。

古人有句俗语说：‘恶事出于恶人。’我却不亲手加害于你。

耶西就打发人去叫了他来。他面色光红，双目清秀，容貌俊美。耶和华说：“这就是他，你起来膏他。”撒母耳就用角里的膏油，在他诸兄中膏了他。从这日起，耶和华的灵就大大感动大卫。撒母耳起身回拉玛去了。

他在床上图谋罪孽，定意行不善的道，不憎恶恶事。

耶户开满了弓，射中约兰的脊背，箭从心窝穿出，约兰就仆倒在车上。

祸哉，那些在床上图谋罪孽、造作奸恶的！天一发亮，因手有能力就行出来了。

乌西雅的儿子约坦二十年，以拉的儿子何细亚背叛利玛利的儿子比加，击杀他，篡了他的位。

大卫对亚比筛说：“不可害死他。有谁伸手害耶和华的受膏者而无罪呢？”大卫又说：“我指着永生的耶和华起誓，他或被耶和华击打，或是死期到了，或是出战阵亡；我在耶和华面前，万不敢伸手害耶和华的受膏者。现在你可以将他头旁的枪和水瓶拿来，我们就走。”

心利见城破失，就进了王宫的卫所，放火焚烧宫殿，自焚而死。

祸哉！你这毁灭人的，自己倒不被毁灭；行事诡诈的，人倒不以诡诈待你。你毁灭罢休了，自己必被毁灭；你行完了诡诈，人必以诡诈待你。
