Elisha was still talking to the elders when the messenger came down to him. The king also arrived. He said,“ The Lord has sent this horrible trouble on us. Why should I wait any longer for him to help us?”

And while he was still speaking with them, the messenger came down to him and said,“ This trouble is from the Lord! Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

While Elisha was still saying this, the messenger arrived. And the king said,“ All this misery is from the Lord! Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

While he was still talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him and he said,“ Behold, this evil is from the Lord; why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

And while he was yet talking with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of Jehovah; why should I wait for Jehovah any longer?

While Elisha was still speaking with them, the messenger came down to him. Then he said,“ This disaster is from the Lord. Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

He was still talking to them when the messenger approached and said,“ Look, the LORD is responsible for this disaster! Why should I continue to wait for the LORD to help?”

While he was still talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him. Then he said,“ Behold, this evil is from Yahweh. Why should I wait for Yahweh any longer?”

His wife said to him,“ Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!”

Distressed and hungry, they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God.

I will wait for the Lord, who is hiding his face from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my trust in him.

For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.”

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites,“ In the evening you will know that it was the Lord who brought you out of Egypt,and in the morning you will see the glory of the Lord, because he has heard your grumbling against him. Who are we, that you should grumble against us?”Moses also said,“ You will know that it was the Lord when he gives you meat to eat in the evening and all the bread you want in the morning, because he has heard your grumbling against him. Who are we? You are not grumbling against us, but against the Lord.”

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.

Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant? Let the one who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on their God.

“ I have sinned,” he said,“ for I have betrayed innocent blood.”“ What is that to us?” they replied.“ That’s your responsibility.”So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

and said:“ Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”

A person’s own folly leads to their ruin, yet their heart rages against the Lord.

Saul said to his armor-bearer,“ Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and run me through and abuse me.” But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

He inquired of the Lord, but the Lord did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets.Saul then said to his attendants,“ Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her.”“ There is one in Endor,” they said.So Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to the woman.“ Consult a spirit for me,” he said,“ and bring up for me the one I name.”

They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agonyand cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Do not run until your feet are bare and your throat is dry. But you said,‘ It’s no use! I love foreign gods, and I must go after them.’

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

“ Son of man, say to the Israelites,‘ This is what you are saying:“ Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?”’
