He was still talking to them when the messenger approached and said,“ Look, the LORD is responsible for this disaster! Why should I continue to wait for the LORD to help?”

While he was still talking to them, the messenger came down to him. The king said,“ This disaster is from the Lord. Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

Elisha was still talking to the elders when the messenger came down to him. The king also arrived. He said,“ The Lord has sent this horrible trouble on us. Why should I wait any longer for him to help us?”

And while he was still speaking with them, the messenger came down to him and said,“ This trouble is from the Lord! Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

While Elisha was still saying this, the messenger arrived. And the king said,“ All this misery is from the Lord! Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

While Elisha was still speaking with them, the messenger came down to him. Then he said,“ This disaster is from the LORD. Why should I wait for the LORD any longer?”

While he was still talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him and he said,“ Behold, this evil is from the Lord; why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

And while he was still talking with them, there was the messenger, coming down to him; and then the king said,“ Surely this calamity is from the Lord; why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

And while he was yet talking with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of Jehovah; why should I wait for Jehovah any longer?

While Elisha was still speaking with them, the messenger came down to him. Then he said,“ This disaster is from the Lord. Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?”

And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil[ is] of the LORD; what should I wait for the LORD any longer?

While he was still talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him. Then he said,“ Behold, this evil is from Yahweh. Why should I wait for Yahweh any longer?”

Then his wife said to him,“ Are you still holding firmly to your integrity? Curse God, and die!”

They will pass through the land destitute and starving. Their hunger will make them angry, and they will curse their king and their God as they look upward.

I will wait patiently for the LORD, who has rejected the family of Jacob; I will wait for him.

Wicked men will be wiped out, but those who rely on the LORD are the ones who will possess the land.

But extend your hand and strike his bone and his flesh, and he will no doubt curse you to your face!”

For the message is a witness to what is decreed; it gives reliable testimony about how matters will turn out. Even if the message is not fulfilled right away, wait patiently; for it will certainly come to pass– it will not arrive late.

so that we may not be exploited by Satan( for we are not ignorant of his schemes).

But extend your hand and strike everything he has, and he will no doubt curse you to your face!”

so that now instead you should rather forgive and comfort him. This will keep him from being overwhelmed by excessive grief to the point of despair.

Wait patiently for the LORD! Wait confidently for him! Do not fret over the apparent success of a sinner, a man who carries out wicked schemes!

Then Cain said to the LORD,“ My punishment is too great to endure!

Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites,“ In the evening you will know that the LORD has brought you out of the land of Egypt,and in the morning you will see the glory of the LORD, because he has heard your murmurings against the LORD. As for us, what are we, that you should murmur against us?”Moses said,“ You will know this when the LORD gives you meat to eat in the evening and bread in the morning to satisfy you, because the LORD has heard your murmurings that you are murmuring against him. As for us, what are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.”

Patiently wait for God alone, my soul! For he is the one who gives me confidence.

Who among you fears the LORD? Who obeys his servant? Whoever walks in deep darkness, without light, should trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.

saying,“ I have sinned by betraying innocent blood!” But they said,“ What is that to us? You take care of it yourself!”So Judas threw the silver coins into the temple and left. Then he went out and hanged himself.

Then Jesus told them a parable to show them they should always pray and not lose heart.

He said,“ Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will return there. The LORD gives, and the LORD takes away. May the name of the LORD be blessed!”

A person’s folly subverts his way, and his heart rages against the LORD.

Saul said to his armor bearer,“ Draw your sword and stab me with it! Otherwise these uncircumcised people will come, stab me, and torture me.” But his armor bearer refused to do it, because he was very afraid. So Saul took his sword and fell on it.

You keep completely safe the people who maintain their faith, for they trust in you.

So Saul inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him– not by dreams nor by Urim nor by the prophets.So Saul instructed his servants,“ Find me a woman who is a medium, so that I may go to her and inquire of her.” His servants replied to him,“ There is a woman who is a medium in Endor.”So Saul disguised himself and put on other clothing and left, accompanied by two of his men. They came to the woman at night and said,“ Use your ritual pit to conjure up for me the one I tell you.”

Thus people were scorched by the terrible heat, yet they blasphemed the name of God, who has ruling authority over these plagues, and they would not repent and give him glory.Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast so that darkness covered his kingdom, and people began to bite their tongues because of their pain.They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their sufferings and because of their sores, but nevertheless they still refused to repent of their deeds.

Rely on the LORD! Be strong and confident! Rely on the LORD!

Do not chase after other gods until your shoes wear out and your throats become dry. But you say,‘ It is useless for you to try and stop me because I love those foreign gods and want to pursue them!’

The LORD is good to those who trust in him, to the one who seeks him.It is good to wait patiently for deliverance from the LORD.

“ And you, son of man, say to the house of Israel,‘ This is what you have said:“ Our rebellious acts and our sins have caught up with us, and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?”’
