There was a great famine in the city; the siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a quarter of a cab of seed pods for five shekels.

There wasn’t enough food anywhere in the city. It was surrounded for so long that people had to weigh out two pounds of silver for a donkey’s head. They had to weigh out two ounces of silver for half a pint of seed pods.

And there was a great famine in Samaria, as they besieged it, until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and the fourth part of a kab of dove’s dung for five shekels of silver.

As a result, there was a great famine in the city. The siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty pieces of silver, and a cup of dove’s dung sold for five pieces of silver.

So there was a severe famine in Samaria, and they continued the siege against it until a donkey’s head sold for thirty-four ounces of silver, and a cup of dove’s dung sold for two ounces of silver.

我若出到田间，看哪，有被刀杀的；我若进入城内，看哪，有因饥荒患病的；先知和祭司也在各地往来经商，不知如何是好。

我就说：“唉！主耶和华，看哪，那些先知常对他们说：‘你们必不见刀剑，也不遭饥荒；耶和华要在这地方赏赐你们真正的平安。’”耶和华对我说：“那些先知托我的名说假预言，我并未差遣他们，没有吩咐他们，也没有对他们说话；他们向你们预言的是虚假的异象、占卜、虚无，以及心中的诡诈。所以耶和华如此说：‘论到托我名说预言的那些先知，我并未差遣他们；他们说这地不会有刀剑、饥荒，其实那些先知自己必被刀剑、饥荒灭绝。

四月初九，城里的饥荒非常严重，当地的百姓都没有粮食。

我们若说要进城去，城里有饥荒，我们必死在那里。若我们在这里坐着不动，也必死。现在，来吧，我们去向亚兰人的军队投降。若他们饶我们的命，我们就活着；若杀我们，我们就死吧！”

我要断绝你们粮食的供应，使十个女人用一个烤炉给你们烤饼，按配给的定量秤给你们。你们要吃，却吃不饱。

四月初九，城里的饥荒非常严重，当地的百姓都没有粮食。

耶和华说：“以色列人在我赶他们到的列国中，也必这样吃不洁净的食物。”我说：“唉！主耶和华，看哪，我从来未曾被玷污，从幼年到如今没有吃过自然死的，或被野兽撕裂的，那不洁净的肉也未曾入我的口。”于是他对我说：“看，我给你牛粪代替人粪，你要在上面烤你的饼。”他又对我说：“人子，看哪，我必断绝耶路撒冷粮食的供应。他们要带着忧虑限量吃饼；带着惊惶限量喝水。

以利亚就去，要让亚哈见到他。那时，撒玛利亚的饥荒非常严重。
