There was a great famine in the city; the siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a quarter of a cab of seed pods for five shekels.

There wasn’t enough food anywhere in the city. It was surrounded for so long that people had to weigh out two pounds of silver for a donkey’s head. They had to weigh out two ounces of silver for half a pint of seed pods.

And there was a great famine in Samaria, as they besieged it, until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and the fourth part of a kab of dove’s dung for five shekels of silver.

As a result, there was a great famine in the city. The siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty pieces of silver, and a cup of dove’s dung sold for five pieces of silver.

So there was a severe famine in Samaria, and they continued the siege against it until a donkey’s head sold for thirty-four ounces of silver, and a cup of dove’s dung sold for two ounces of silver.

我若出往田間，就見有被刀殺的；我若進入城內，就見有因饑荒患病的；連先知帶祭司在國中往來，也是毫無知識。

看哪，敵人已經來到，築壘要攻取這城；城也因刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫交在攻城的迦勒底人手中。你所說的話都成就了，你也看見了。

王問婦人說：「你有甚麼苦處？」她回答說：「這婦人對我說：『將你的兒子取來，我們今日可以吃，明日可以吃我的兒子。』我們就煮了我的兒子吃了。次日我對她說：『要將你的兒子取來，我們可以吃。』她卻將她的兒子藏起來了。」

我就說：「唉！主耶和華啊，那些先知常對他們說：『你們必不看見刀劍，也不遭遇饑荒；耶和華要在這地方賜你們長久的平安。』」耶和華對我說：「那些先知託我的名說假預言，我並沒有打發他們，沒有吩咐他們，也沒有對他們說話；他們向你們預言的，乃是虛假的異象和占卜，並虛無的事，以及本心的詭詐。所以耶和華如此說：論到託我名說預言的那些先知，我並沒有打發他們；他們還說這地不能有刀劍饑荒，其實那些先知必被刀劍饑荒滅絕。

四月初九日，城裏有大饑荒，甚至百姓都沒有糧食。

我們若說，進城去吧！城裏有饑荒，必死在那裏；若在這裏坐着不動，也必是死。來吧，我們去投降亞蘭人的軍隊，他們若留我們的活命，就活着；若殺我們，就死了吧！」

我要折斷你們的杖，就是斷絕你們的糧。那時，必有十個女人在一個爐子給你們烤餅，按分量秤給你們；你們要吃，也吃不飽。

四月初九日，城裏有大饑荒，甚至百姓都沒有糧食。

耶和華說：「以色列人在我所趕他們到的各國中，也必這樣吃不潔淨的食物。」我說：「哎！主耶和華啊，我素來未曾被玷污，從幼年到如今沒有吃過自死的，或被野獸撕裂的，那可憎的肉也未曾入我的口。」於是他對我說：「看哪，我給你牛糞代替人糞，你要將你的餅烤在其上。」他又對我說：「人子啊，我必在耶路撒冷折斷他們的杖，就是斷絕他們的糧。他們吃餅要按分兩，憂慮而吃；喝水也要按制子，驚惶而喝；

以利亞就去，要使亞哈得見他。那時，撒馬利亞有大饑荒；
