There was a great famine in the city; the siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a quarter of a cab of seed pods for five shekels.

There wasn’t enough food anywhere in the city. It was surrounded for so long that people had to weigh out two pounds of silver for a donkey’s head. They had to weigh out two ounces of silver for half a pint of seed pods.

And there was a great famine in Samaria, as they besieged it, until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and the fourth part of a kab of dove’s dung for five shekels of silver.

As a result, there was a great famine in the city. The siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty pieces of silver, and a cup of dove’s dung sold for five pieces of silver.

So there was a severe famine in Samaria, and they continued the siege against it until a donkey’s head sold for thirty-four ounces of silver, and a cup of dove’s dung sold for two ounces of silver.

看啊，敌人已经修筑高台要攻打这城，这城要因战争、饥荒和瘟疫而落入迦勒底人手中。你所说的都应验了，你也看见了。

你有什么难处呢？”妇人说：“这个女人对我说，‘我们今天吃你儿子，明天再吃我儿子。’于是我们把我儿子煮了吃。第二天我叫她把她儿子交出来，她却把儿子藏了起来。”

我说：“主耶和华啊！众先知不停地告诉他们不会有战争，也不会遭遇饥荒，说耶和华必在这地方赐给他们永久的平安。”耶和华对我说：“那些先知奉我的名说假预言，我并没有差派他们，没有委任他们，也没有对他们说话。他们对你们说的预言是假异象，是占卜，是凭空捏造。我没有差派他们，他们却奉我的名说这地方必没有战争和饥荒。他们必死于战争和饥荒。这是耶和华说的。

那年四月九日，城里饥荒非常严重，百姓无粮可吃。

如果我们进城，城里正闹饥荒，我们会饿死；但我们坐在这里也是死，不如去投靠亚兰军。如果他们不杀我们，我们就能活命；如若不然，死就死吧！”

我要断绝你们的粮源。那时候，十个妇女将用一个烤炉烤饼，按定量分饼给你们，你们吃却吃不饱。

那年四月九日，城里饥荒非常严重，百姓无粮可吃。

耶和华说：“我把以色列人驱逐到各国的时候，他们也要这样吃不洁净的食物。”我说：“唉，主耶和华啊！我从来没有玷污过自己，我自幼至今从未吃过自然死去的或被野兽撕碎的动物，不洁净的肉从未入过我的口。”于是祂对我说：“好吧，我容许你用牛粪代替人粪来烤饼。”又说：“人子啊，我要断绝耶路撒冷的粮源，叫他们焦虑地吃限量的饼，恐惧地喝限量的水。

以利亚就去见亚哈。当时，撒玛利亚正遭受严重的饥荒。
