And one of his servants said, Nay, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.

臣僕中有一個人說：『我主我王，沒有的事，只有以色列中的神言人以利沙、他將王在臥房中所說的話告訴以色列王罷了。』

一臣曰、我主我王歟、非也、乃以色列之先知以利沙、以王在寢室所言者、告以色列王、

一臣曰、我主我王、無人助之、乃以色列族之先知、以利沙以王在寢室所言之事、悉告其主。

“ None of us, my lord the king,” said one of his officers,“ but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.”

“ You are my king and master,” said one of his officers.“ None of us is on Israel’s side. But Elisha is a prophet in Israel. He tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in your own bedroom.”

And one of his servants said,“ None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

“ It’s not us, my lord the king,” one of the officers replied.“ Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in the privacy of your bedroom!”

One of his servants said,“ No one, my lord the king. Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in your bedroom.”

One of his servants said,“ No, my lord, the king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

And one of his servants said,“ None, my Lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

One of his servants said,“ No one, my lord the king. Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in your bedroom.”

And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that[ is] in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.

One of his advisers said,“ No, my master, O king. The prophet Elisha who lives in Israel keeps telling the king of Israel the things you say in your bedroom.”

One of his servants said,“ No, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

but there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and he hath made known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these:as for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter; and he that revealeth secrets hath made known to thee what shall come to pass.But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but to the intent that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that thou mayest know the thoughts of thy heart.

Surely the Lord Jehovah will do nothing, except he reveal his secret unto his servants the prophets.

And it was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.Thus were the visions of my head upon my bed: I saw, and, behold, a tree in the midst of the earth; and the height thereof was great.The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth.The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was food for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the birds of the heavens dwelt in the branches thereof, and all flesh was fed from it.I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and a holy one came down from heaven.He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off its branches, shake off its leaves, and scatter its fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from its branches.Nevertheless leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven: and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones; to the intent that the living may know that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the lowest of men.This dream I, king Nebuchadnezzar, have seen; and thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation; but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

Revile not the king, no, not in thy thought; and revile not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the heavens shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.

Am I a God at hand, saith Jehovah, and not a God afar off?Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah.

And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are coming down.And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of; and he saved himself there, not once nor twice.

Woe unto them that hide deep their counsel from Jehovah, and whose works are in the dark, and that say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

And she said unto her mistress, Would that my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! then would he recover him of his leprosy.

The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou hast been able to reveal this secret.

he revealeth the deep and secret things; he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast now made known unto me what we desired of thee; for thou hast made known unto us the king’s matter.

O Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known me.Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising; Thou understandest my thought afar off.Thou searchest out my path and my lying down, And art acquainted with all my ways.For there is not a word in my tongue, But, lo, O Jehovah, thou knowest it altogether.

And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him; and he said, Behold now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a present of thy servant.
