以色列王读了这信后，就撕裂自己的衣服，说：“我是神，能使人死使人活吗？这人竟派人到我这里来，要我治好他的痲风。请你们想想看，他是要找机会攻击我。”

她对她的女主人说：“如果我的主人去见撒玛利亚的先知就好了，他必定能治好他的痲风。”

大卫对约押和与他在一起的众人说：“你们要撕裂衣服，腰束麻布，在押尼珥面前哀哭！”大卫王也走在棺木后面。

他们或听或不听（他们原是叛逆的民族），也必知道在他们中间有一位先知。

妇人对以利亚说：“现在我知道你是神人，耶和华藉着你的口所说的话是真实的。”

后来，耶和华藉着一位先知把以色列从埃及领上来，也藉着一位先知，以色列得蒙看顾。
