以色列人犯了罪，違背了我吩咐他們的約定，因為他們取了那當毀滅的物，他們偷竊，並且說謊，又把那當毀滅的物放在自己的物件中。所以，以色列人在他們的仇敵面前站立不住，在他們的仇敵面前轉身逃跑，因為他們成了當毀滅的。如果你們不把那當毀滅的物從你們中間除掉，我就必不再與你們同在了。

亞哈聽見拿伯已經死了，就起來，下到耶斯列人拿伯的葡萄園那裡去，要佔有那園。

他對我說：“這是向全地發出的咒詛：凡偷盜的必照著書卷這面所寫的被清除；凡起假誓的必照著那面所記的被清除。萬軍之耶和華說：‘我要使這書卷出去，進入盜賊的家和指著我的名起假誓之人的家，這書卷必留在他的家中，要把他家裡的木料和石頭都毀滅（這是萬軍之耶和華說的）。’”

這些國民豈不都用譬喻、諷刺、暗語指著他們說：“那些濫得他人財物的，滿載別人抵押品的，有禍了！他們這樣要到幾時呢？”

那些向耶和華深藏謀略的人，有禍了！他們在暗中行事，說：“誰看見我們？誰知道我們？”
