Gehazi, the prophet Elisha’s servant, thought,“ Look, my master did not accept what this Syrian Naaman offered him. As certainly as the LORD lives, I will run after him and accept something from him.”

乃缦刚走不远，上帝仆人以利沙的仆人基哈西心想：“我主人没有收亚兰人乃缦带来的礼物就让他走了。我凭永活的耶和华起誓，我一定要追上去，向他要点东西。”

神人以利沙的仆人基哈西心里说：“看哪，我主人不肯从这亚兰人乃缦手中收取他带来的礼物；我指着永活的耶和华起誓，我要追上他，向他要些东西。”

神人以利沙的僕人基哈西心裡說：“看哪，我主人不肯從這亞蘭人乃縵手中收取他帶來的禮物；我指著永活的耶和華起誓，我要追上他，向他要些東西。”

神人的僮僕基哈西心裏說：『看哪，我主人顧惜這一位亞蘭人乃縵，不從他手裏接收他所帶來的東西。我指着永活的永恆主來起誓、我一定要跑去追上他，向他要一點。』

上帝僕以利沙之僕基哈西曰、我主惜此亞蘭人乃縵之費、不受其手所攜者、我指維生之耶和華而誓、我必追之、少索其物、

上帝僕以利沙之從者、其哈西私念曰、我主釋此亞蘭人乃慢、不受其所饋、我指耶和華以誓、我將追之、冀有少得。

神人以利沙之僕基哈西私念曰、我主人不願由此亞蘭人乃縵手、受其所攜、我指永生主而誓、我趨而追之、向其稍索、

Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said to himself,“ My master was too easy on Naaman, this Aramean, by not accepting from him what he brought. As surely as the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him.”

Gehazi was the servant of Elisha, the man of God. Gehazi said to himself,“ My master was too easy on Naaman from Aram. He should have accepted the gift Naaman brought. I’m going to run after him. I’m going to get something from him. And that’s just as sure as the Lord is alive.”

Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said,“ See, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not accepting from his hand what he brought. As the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him.”

But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, the man of God, said to himself,“ My master should not have let this Aramean get away without accepting any of his gifts. As surely as the Lord lives, I will chase after him and get something from him.”

Gehazi, the attendant of Elisha the man of God, thought,“ My master has let this Aramean Naaman off lightly by not accepting from him what he brought. As the LORD lives, I will run after him and get something from him.”

But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, thought,“ Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Aramean, by not accepting from his hand what he brought. As the Lord lives, I will run after him and take something from him.”

But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said,“ Look, my master has spared Naaman this Syrian, while not receiving from his hands what he brought; but as the Lord lives, I will run after him and take something from him.”

But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: as Jehovah liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.

But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said,“ Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought. As Yahweh lives, I will run after him, and take something from him.”

He told his servant Gehazi,“ Ask the Shunammite woman to come here.” So he did so and she came to him.

“ You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold guiltless anyone who takes his name in vain.

Then he said,“ May God judge me severely if Elisha son of Shaphat still has his head by the end of the day!”

Now Gehazi went on ahead of them. He placed the staff on the child’s face, but there was no sound or response. When he came back to Elisha he told him,“ The child did not wake up.”

Elisha called to Gehazi and said,“ Get the Shunammite woman.” So he did so and she came to him. He said to her,“ Take your son.”

Now Simon, when he saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, offered them money,saying,“ Give me this power too, so that everyone I place my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”

Their eyes, full of adultery, never stop sinning; they entice unstable people. They have trained their hearts for greed, these cursed children!By forsaking the right path they have gone astray, because they followed the way of Balaam son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,

The master commended the dishonest manager because he acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their contemporaries than the people of light.

Give a shepherd’s care to God’s flock among you, exercising oversight not merely as a duty but willingly under God’s direction, not for shameful profit but eagerly.

He kept back for himself part of the proceeds with his wife’s knowledge; he brought only part of it and placed it at the apostles’ feet.

But you are always thinking and looking for ways to increase your wealth by dishonest means. Your eyes and your heart are set on killing some innocent person and committing fraud and oppression.

“ Why wasn’t this oil sold for three hundred silver coins and the money given to the poor?”( Now Judas said this not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief. As keeper of the money box, he used to steal what was put into it.)

Then he said to them,“ Watch out and guard yourself from all types of greed, because one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

For as surely as the LORD, the deliverer of Israel, lives, even if it turns out to be my own son Jonathan, he will certainly die!” But no one from the army said anything.

Yes, the wicked man boasts because he gets what he wants; the one who robs others curses and rejects the LORD.

The one who builds his house by unjust gain is as good as dead. He does this so he can build his nest way up high and escape the clutches of disaster.

“ You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

For the overseer must be blameless as one entrusted with God’s work, not arrogant, not prone to anger, not a drunkard, not violent, not greedy for gain.

Those who long to be rich, however, stumble into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is the root of all evils. Some people in reaching for it have strayed from the faith and stabbed themselves with many pains.But you, as a person dedicated to God, keep away from all that. Instead pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness.
