But Elisha replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives, whom I serve, I will not accept any gifts.” And though Naaman urged him to take the gift, Elisha refused.

The prophet answered,“ As surely as the Lord lives, whom I serve, I will not accept a thing.” And even though Naaman urged him, he refused.

The prophet answered,“ I serve the Lord. You can be sure that he lives. And you can be just as sure that I won’t accept a gift from you.” Even though Naaman begged him to take it, Elisha wouldn’t.

But he said,“ As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused.

But Elisha said,“ As the LORD lives, in whose presence I stand, I will not accept it.” Naaman urged him to accept it, but he refused.

But he said,“ As surely as the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will accept nothing.” And he urged him to accept it, but he refused.

But he said,“ As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will receive nothing.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused.

But he said, As Jehovah liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.

But Elisha said,“ As the Lord lives, I stand before Him. I will not accept it.” Naaman urged him to accept it, but he refused.

But he said,[ As] the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take[ it]; but he refused.

But Elisha replied,“ As certainly as the LORD lives( whom I serve), I will take nothing from you.” Naaman insisted that he take it, but he refused.

But he said,“ As Yahweh lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none.” He urged him to take it; but he refused.

Elisha replied,“ As surely as the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, I wouldn’t even bother with you except for my respect for King Jehoshaphat of Judah.

But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, the man of God, said to himself,“ My master should not have let this Aramean get away without accepting any of his gifts. As surely as the Lord lives, I will chase after him and get something from him.”

But Elisha asked him,“ Don’t you realize that I was there in spirit when Naaman stepped down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to receive money and clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and cattle, and male and female servants?

Now Elijah, who was from Tishbe in Gilead, told King Ahab,“ As surely as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives— the God I serve— there will be no dew or rain during the next few years until I give the word!”

Daniel answered the king,“ Keep your gifts or give them to someone else, but I will tell you what the writing means.

Abram replied to the king of Sodom,“ I solemnly swear to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,that I will not take so much as a single thread or sandal thong from what belongs to you. Otherwise you might say,‘ I am the one who made Abram rich.’

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!

You say,“ I am allowed to do anything”— but not everything is good for you. And even though“ I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.

Now I am coming to you for the third time, and I will not be a burden to you. I don’t want what you have— I want you. After all, children don’t provide for their parents. Rather, parents provide for their children.

But Elijah said,“ I swear by the Lord Almighty, in whose presence I stand, that I will present myself to Ahab this very day.”

Don’t give offense to Jews or Gentiles or the church of God.I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don’t just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved.

But the man of God said to the king,“ Even if you gave me half of everything you own, I would not go with you. I would not eat or drink anything in this place.

And when I was with you and didn’t have enough to live on, I did not become a financial burden to anyone. For the brothers who came from Macedonia brought me all that I needed. I have never been a burden to you, and I never will be.As surely as the truth of Christ is in me, no one in all of Greece will ever stop me from boasting about this.

When Simon saw that the Spirit was given when the apostles laid their hands on people, he offered them money to buy this power.“ Let me have this power, too,” he exclaimed,“ so that when I lay my hands on people, they will receive the Holy Spirit!”But Peter replied,“ May your money be destroyed with you for thinking God’s gift can be bought!

“ I have never coveted anyone’s silver or gold or fine clothes.You know that these hands of mine have worked to supply my own needs and even the needs of those who were with me.And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus:‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
