Naaman’s servants went over to him. They said,“ You are like a father to us. What if Elisha the prophet had told you to do some great thing? Wouldn’t you have done it? But he only said,‘ Wash yourself. Then you will be pure and“ clean.” ’ You should be even more willing to do that!”

他的僕人近前來，對他說：「我父啊，先知若吩咐你做一件大事，你豈不做嗎？何況是吩咐你去沐浴，得潔淨呢？」

他的僕人近前來，對他說：「我父啊，先知若吩咐你做一件大事，你豈不做嗎？何況是吩咐你去沐浴，得潔淨呢？」

他的僕人上前對他說：「我父啊，先知若吩咐你做一件大事，難道你會不去做嗎？何況他只是說你去洗洗就可以潔淨！」

他的僕人上前，對他說：“我父啊，先知如果吩咐你作一件大事，你不是照著行嗎？何況他只是說：‘你去沐浴就得潔淨’呢？”

他的僕人走近前來對他說道：『我父啊，神言人若吩咐你一件大事，你難道不作麼？何況他只對你說：「你去洗澡，而得潔淨」呢？』

其僕進而謂之曰、我父歟、先知若命爾行一大事、爾豈不行之、況僅言沐浴而得潔乎、

其從者至前、告曰、我主歟、如先知以難成之事使爾、爾豈有所不為、況彼第言、濯身而成潔乎。

其僕至前告曰、我父歟、如先知以難成之事命爾、爾亦當為之、況第言浴身而成潔乎、

Naaman’s servants went to him and said,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you,‘ Wash and be cleansed’!”

But his servants came near and said to him,“ My father, it is a great word the prophet has spoken to you; will you not do it? Has he actually said to you,‘ Wash, and be clean’?”

But his officers tried to reason with him and said,“ Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply,‘ Go and wash and be cured!’”

But his servants approached and said to him,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more should you do it when he only tells you,‘ Wash and be clean’?”

Then his servants approached and spoke to him, saying,“ My father, had the prophet told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you,‘ Wash, and be clean’?”

And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you,‘ Wash, and be clean’?”

And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

But his servants approached and said to him,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more should you do it when he tells you,‘ Wash and be clean’?”

And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father,[ if] the prophet had bid thee[ do some] great thing, wouldest thou not have done[ it]? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

His servants approached and said to him,“ O master, if the prophet had told you to do some difficult task, you would have been willing to do it. It seems you should be happy that he simply said,“ Wash and you will be healed.”

His servants came near, and spoke to him, and said,“ My father, if the prophet had asked you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you,‘ Wash, and be clean?’”

The king of Israel saw them. So he asked Elisha,“ Should I kill them? I need your advice. You are like a father to me. Should I kill them?”

Elisha saw it and cried out to Elijah,“ My father! You are like a father to me! You, Elijah, are the true chariots and horsemen of Israel!” Elisha didn’t see Elijah anymore. Then Elisha took hold of his own garment and tore it in two.

Elisha had been suffering from a sickness. Later he would die from it. Jehoash, the king of Israel, went down to see him. Jehoash wept over him.“ My father!” he cried.“ You are like a father to me! You, Elisha, are the true chariots and horsemen of Israel!”

Ebed- Melek was an official in the royal palace. He was from the land of Cush. He heard that Jeremiah had been put into the well. The king was sitting by the Benjamin Gate at that time.Ebed- Melek went out of the palace. He said to the king,“ My king and master, everything these men have done to Jeremiah the prophet is evil. They have thrown him into an empty well. Soon there won’t be any more bread in the city. Then he’ll starve to death.”So the king gave an order to Ebed- Melek the Cushite. He said,“ Take with you 30 men from here. Lift Jeremiah the prophet out of the well before he dies.”

But the spirit in people gives them understanding. The breath of the Mighty One gives them wisdom.Older people aren’t the only ones who are wise. They aren’t the only ones who understand what is right.

I answered,“ Sir, you know.” He said,“ They are the ones who have come out of the time of terrible suffering. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

He did it to make her holy. He made her clean by washing her with water and the word.He did it to bring her to himself as a brightly shining church. He wants a church that has no stain or wrinkle or any other flaw. He wants a church that is holy and without blame.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

Elisha sent a messenger out to him. The messenger said,“ Go! Wash yourself in the Jordan River seven times. Then your skin will be healed. You will be pure and‘ clean’ again.”

One of the servants warned Abigail, Nabal’s wife. He said,“ David sent some messengers from the desert to give his greetings to our master. But Nabal shouted at them and was rude to them.David’s men had been very good to us. They treated us well. The whole time we were near them out in the fields, nothing was stolen.We were taking care of our sheep near them. During that time, they were like a wall around us night and day. They kept us safe.Now think it over. See what you can do. Horrible trouble will soon come to our master and his whole family. He’s such an evil man that no one can even talk to him.”

Suppose you had 10,000 believers in Christ watching over you. You still wouldn’t have many fathers. I became your father by serving Christ Jesus and telling you the good news.

He saved us. It wasn’t because of the good things we had done. It was because of his mercy. He saved us by washing away our sins. We were born again. The Holy Spirit gave us new life.

Wash away all the evil things I’ve done. Make me pure from my sin.

During that time, the officials of the king of Aram gave him advice. They said,“ The gods of Israel are gods of the hills. That’s why they were too strong for us. But suppose we fight them on the plains. Then we’ll certainly be stronger than they are.

Hazael went to see Elisha. Hazael took 40 camels with him as a gift. The camels were loaded with all the finest goods of Damascus. Hazael went into Elisha’s house and stood in front of him. Hazael said,“ Ben- Hadad has sent me. He is the king of Aram. He asks,‘ Will I get well again?’ ”

God wisely planned that the world would not know him through its own wisdom. It pleased God to use the foolish things we preach to save those who believe.

“ No,” said Peter.“ You will never wash my feet.” Jesus answered,“ Unless I wash you, you can’t share life with me.”

So what are you waiting for? Get up and call on his name. Be baptized. Have your sins washed away.’

So let us come near to God with a sincere heart. Let us come near boldly because of our faith. Our hearts have been sprinkled. Our minds have been cleansed from a sense of guilt. Our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Do not call anyone on earth‘ father.’ You have one Father, and he is in heaven.

He also had him ride in a chariot. Joseph was now next in command after Pharaoh. People went in front of Joseph and shouted,“ Get down on your knees!” By doing all these things, Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of the whole land of Egypt.

Sprinkle me with hyssop, then I will be clean. Wash me, then I will be whiter than snow.

His officials said to him,“ Look, we’ve heard that the kings of Israel often show mercy. So let’s go to the king of Israel. Let’s wear the rough clothing people wear when they’re sad. Let’s tie ropes around our heads. Perhaps Ahab will spare your life.”

The young girl spoke to the woman she was serving. She said,“ I wish my master would go and see the prophet who is in Samaria. He would heal my master of his skin disease.”

So wash and make yourselves clean. Get your evil actions out of my sight! Stop doing what is wrong!

“ A son honors his father. A slave honors his master. If I am a father, where is the honor I should have? If I am a master, where is the respect you should give me?” says the Lord who rules over all.“ You priests look down on me.“ But you ask,‘ How have we looked down on you?’

The water of the flood is a picture. It is a picture of the baptism that now saves you too. This baptism has nothing to do with removing dirt from your body. Instead, it promises God that you will keep a clear sense of right and wrong. This baptism saves you by the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
