大馬色之河、亞罷拿與法珥法、較以色列諸水、豈不尤佳乎、我不可浴於彼、而得潔乎、遂忿然反身而去、

大馬色之河、亞巴拿與法法、較之以色列地之水、豈非尤善、濯身於彼、豈不能成潔乎。遂怒欲歸。

and when those who bore the ark had come to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark had dipped in the edge of the water( for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest),the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off. He took Elijah’s mantle that fell from him, and struck the waters, and said,“ Where is Yahweh, the God of Elijah?” When he also had struck the waters, they were divided apart, and Elisha went over.

Again he measured one thousand, and caused me to pass through waters that were to the waist.Afterward he measured one thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass through; for the waters had risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be walked through.He said to me,“ Son of man, have you seen?” Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the bank of the river.Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.Then he said to me,“ These waters flow out toward the eastern region, and will go down into the Arabah. Then they will go toward the sea; and flow into the sea which will be made to flow out; and the waters will be healed.

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.

It will happen in that day, that living waters will go out from Jerusalem: half of them toward the eastern sea, and half of them toward the western sea. It will be so in summer and in winter.

Elijah took his mantle, and rolled it up, and struck the waters, and they were divided here and there, so that they both went over on dry ground.
