大马士革的河亚罢拿和法珥法岂不比以色列的一切水更好吗？我在那里沐浴不得洁净吗？”于是气忿忿地转身去了。

大馬色之河、亞罷拿與法珥法、較以色列諸水、豈不尤佳乎、我不可浴於彼、而得潔乎、遂忿然反身而去、

大馬色之河、亞巴拿與法法、較之以色列地之水、豈非尤善、濯身於彼、豈不能成潔乎。遂怒欲歸。

Are Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, not better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.

抬約櫃的祭司來到約旦河，他們的腳碰到水邊的時候（原來約旦河水在收割的日子，常是漲過兩岸的），水就停住了，那從上游流下來的水立起成壘，在很遠的地方，就是在撒拉但旁邊的亞當城那裡停住；那往下流入亞拉巴海，就是鹽海的水完全被截斷；於是人民就在耶利哥的對面過了河。抬耶和華約櫃的祭司在約旦河中間的乾地上站住，等以色列眾人都在乾地上走過去，直到全國的人都完全走過了約旦河為止。

乃縵說：“你若是不肯收取，就請你賜你僕人兩頭驢子可以馱的泥土，因為你的僕人不再獻燔祭或別的祭給別的神，只獻給耶和華。

他拿著從以利亞身上掉下來的外衣，擊打河水，說：“耶和華以利亞的神在哪裡呢？”他一擊打河水，河水就左右分開，以利沙就走過去了。

那時候耶穌從加利利的拿撒勒來，在約旦河裡受了約翰的洗。

“到那日，必有一個泉源，為大衛家和耶路撒冷的居民開放，洗除他們的罪惡和不潔。

輕易動怒的，行事愚妄；心懷詭計的人，被人恨惡。

然後，他帶我回到聖殿的門口。有水正從殿的門檻往下流出來，向東流去，因為聖殿是朝東的。這水從殿的右邊，從祭壇的南邊下面流出來。他又帶我從北門出來，再領我從外面繞到朝東的外門。有水正從右邊流出來。那人手裡拿著一根準繩向東走出去的時候，量了五百公尺的距離，然後領我從水中走過去，那裡的水到了腳踝。他又量了五百公尺，然後領我從水中走過去，水到了膝蓋。他又量了五百公尺，然後領我走過去，水到了腰。他再量了五百公尺，水已成了一條河，以致我不能走過去，因為水勢高漲，成為只可供游泳的水，而不能走過去的河。他對我說：“人子啊！你看到了嗎？”他就領著我，帶我回到河邊。我回來以後，看見河這邊和那邊的岸上有很多樹木。他又對我說：“這水要向東方的地區流出去，下到亞拉巴，流入死海。這水流入死海，就使海裡的水變淡（“變淡”原文作“得醫治”）。

人的明慧使他不輕易動怒；寬恕別人過失的，是自己的榮耀。

到那日，必有活水從耶路撒冷流出來；一半流往東海，另一半流往西海；冬天夏天都是這樣。

以利亞拿著自己的外衣，把它捲起，擊打河水，河水就左右分開，他們二人就在乾地上走過去了。
