But Naaman went away angry and said,“ I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy.

But Naaman went away angry. He said,“ I was sure Elisha would come out to me. I thought he would stand there and pray to the Lord his God. I thought he would wave his hand over my skin. Then I would be healed.

But Naaman was angry and went away, saying,“ Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.

But Naaman became angry and stalked away.“ I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said.“ I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me!

But Naaman got angry and left, saying,“ I was telling myself: He will surely come out, stand and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and will wave his hand over the spot and cure the skin disease.

But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

Naaman went away angry. He said,“ Look, I thought for sure he would come out, stand there, invoke the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the area, and cure the skin disease.

But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said,“ Behold, I thought,‘ He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leper.’

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.

The centurion answered and said,“ Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written,“ He catches the wise in their own craftiness”;and again,“ The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”

Then Jesus said to him,“ Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.Then Jesus said to the twelve,“ Do you also want to go away?”But Simon Peter answered Him,“ Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”

But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

“ For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.“ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them;

And she said,“ Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom.

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.For“ who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,
