婦至上帝僕所以告。彼曰、可鬻此油、以償所貸之金、尚有餘焉、爾與爾子、以供日用。○

She went and told the man of God, and he said,“ Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”

你们自己知道该怎样效法我们。因为我们在你们当中从未懒散过，也从未白吃人的饭，倒是辛苦劳碌，昼夜做工，免得使你们中间有人受累。这并不是因我们没有权柄，而是要给你们作榜样，好让你们效法我们。我们在你们那里的时候曾吩咐你们，说若有人不肯做工，就不可吃饭。因为我们听说，在你们中间有人懒散，什么工都不做，反倒专管闲事。我们靠主耶稣基督吩咐并劝戒这样的人，要安分做工，自食其力。

弟兄们，你们记念我们的辛苦劳碌，昼夜做工，传上帝的福音给你们，免得你们任何人受累。我们对你们信主的人是何等圣洁、正直、无可指责，这有你们作证，也有上帝作证。

末了，弟兄们，凡是真实的、凡是可敬的、凡是公义的、凡是清洁的、凡是可爱的、凡是有美名的，若有什么德行，若有什么称赞，你们都要留意。

但上帝的话临到神人示玛雅，说：

好使你们的行为能得外人的尊敬，同时也不依赖任何人。

不要以恶报恶，众人以为美的事要留心去做。

恶人借贷却不偿还；义人恩待人，并且施舍。
