Elisha returned to Gilgal and there was a famine in that region. While the company of the prophets was meeting with him, he said to his servant,“ Put on the large pot and cook some stew for these prophets.”

Elisha returned to Gilgal. There wasn’t enough food to eat in that area. The group of the prophets was meeting with Elisha. So he said to his servant,“ Put the large pot over the fire. Cook some stew for these prophets.”

And Elisha came again to Gilgal when there was a famine in the land. And as the sons of the prophets were sitting before him, he said to his servant,“ Set on the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”

Elisha now returned to Gilgal, and there was a famine in the land. One day as the group of prophets was seated before him, he said to his servant,“ Put a large pot on the fire, and make some stew for the rest of the group.”

And Elisha came again to Gilgal. And there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and boil pottage for the sons of the prophets.

When Elisha returned to Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. The sons of the prophets were sitting at his feet. He said to his attendant,“ Put on the large pot and make stew for the sons of the prophets.”

And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and[ there was] a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets[ were] sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.

Now Elisha went back to Gilgal, while there was famine in the land. Some of the prophets were visiting him and he told his servant,“ Put the big pot on the fire and boil some stew for the prophets.”

Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant,“ Get the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”

Then the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel went out to Elisha and said to him,“ Are you aware that the Lord will take away your master from over you today?” And he said,“ Yes, I am aware; say nothing about it.”

Now it came about, when the Lord was about to bring Elijah up by a whirlwind to heaven, that Elijah left Gilgal with Elisha.

Now Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying,“ Arise and go with your household, and live wherever you can live; for the Lord has called for a famine, and it will indeed come on the land for seven years.”

And she had a sister called Mary, who was also seated at the Lord’s feet, and was listening to His word.

“ I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated under Gamaliel, strictly according to the Law of our fathers, being zealous for God just as you all are today.

When I break your staff of bread, ten women will bake your bread in one oven, and they will bring back your bread in rationed amounts, so that you will eat and not be satisfied.

“ I feel compassion for the people because they have remained with Me for three days already and have nothing to eat.And if I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way; and some of them have come from a great distance.”And His disciples replied to Him,“ Where will anyone be able to find enough bread here in this desolate place to satisfy these people?”And He was asking them,“ How many loaves do you have?” And they said,“ Seven.”And He* directed the people to recline on the ground; and taking the seven loaves, He gave thanks and broke them, and started giving them to His disciples to serve, and they served them to the people.

But the man from whom the demons had gone out was begging Him that he might accompany Him; but Jesus sent him away, saying,

“ You will bring out a great amount of seed to the field, but you will gather in little, because the locust will devour it.You will plant and cultivate vineyards, but you will neither drink of the wine nor bring in the harvest, because the worm will eat it.You will have olive trees throughout your territory but you will not anoint yourself with the oil, because your olives will drop off prematurely.

The Lord will strike you with consumption, inflammation, fever, feverish heat, and with the sword, with blight, and with mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish.The heaven which is over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you, iron.The Lord will make the rain of your land powder and dust; from heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed.

Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David sought the presence of the Lord. And the Lord said,“ It is because of Saul and his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”

You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

So when they got out on the land, they* saw a charcoal fire already made and fish placed on it, and bread.

“ Son of man, if a country sins against Me by being unfaithful, and I stretch out My hand against it, destroy its supply of bread, send famine against it, and eliminate from it both human and animal life,

But I say to you in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a severe famine came over all the land;

After some days Paul said to Barnabas,“ Let’s return and visit the brothers and sisters in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they are.”

That which came as the word of the Lord to Jeremiah regarding the drought:“ Judah mourns And her gates languish; Her people sit on the ground in mourning garments, And the cry of Jerusalem has ascended.Their nobles have sent their servants for water; They have come to the cisterns and found no water. They have returned with their containers empty; They have been put to shame and humiliated, And they cover their heads,Because the ground is cracked, For there has been no rain on the land. The farmers have been put to shame, They have covered their heads.For even the doe in the field has given birth only to abandon her young, Because there is no grass.The wild donkeys stand on the bare heights; They pant for air like jackals, Their eyes fail Because there is no vegetation.

Then, after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.

And he used to go annually on a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah, and he judged Israel in all these places.Then he would make his return to Ramah, because his house was there, and there he also judged Israel; and there he built an altar to the Lord.

Then Saul sent messengers to take David, but when they saw the company of prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing and presiding over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul; and they also prophesied.

And the people came out to see what had happened; and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting down at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind; and they became frightened.

But He said to them,“ You give them something to eat!” But they said,“ We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless perhaps we go and buy food for all these people.”

Present a parable to the rebellious house and say to them,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Put on the pot, put it on and also pour water into it;

But He answered them,“ You give them something to eat!” And they* said to Him,“ Shall we go and spend two hundred denarii on bread, and give it to them to eat?”

Blessed is the person who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at my doorposts.

So Jesus* said to them,“ Children, you do not have any fish to eat, do you?” They answered Him,“ No.”
