他正向王講述以利沙叫死人復活的事的時候；看哪，以利沙曾救活她的兒子的那婦人來為她的房屋、田產哀求王。基哈西說：“我主我王，這就是那婦人了，她的這個兒子就是以利沙救活的了。”

有人正在埋葬死人的時候，看見一群來侵略的人，他們就把死屍丟在以利沙的墳上，隨即走了。死屍碰著以利沙的骨頭就復活了，雙腳站了起來。

彼得叫大家出去之後，就跪下來禱告，然後轉過身來對著屍體說：“戴比莎，起來！”她就睜開眼睛，一看見彼得，就坐了起來。

耶和華垂聽了以利亞的話，孩子的生命果然恢復，活過來了。

於是上前按著槓子，抬的人就站住。他說：“青年人，我吩咐你起來！”那死人就坐起來，開口說話，耶穌就把他交給他母親。

以利沙告訴那婦人（她的兒子曾被以利沙救活），說：“你和你全家要動身，離開這裡，住在你可以寄居的地方，因為耶和華宣布了將有饑荒，這饑荒要臨到這地七年。”

說了這話，就大聲呼喊：“拉撒路，出來！”那死了的人就出來，他的手腳都纏著布，臉上裹著巾。耶穌說：“解開他，讓他走！”

她的靈魂回來了，她就立刻起來。耶穌吩咐給她東西吃。
