Gehazi went on ahead and laid the staff on the boy’s face, but there was no sound or response. So Gehazi went back to meet Elisha and told him,“ The boy has not awakened.”

Gehazi went on ahead. He laid Elisha’s walking stick on the boy’s face. But there wasn’t any sound. The boy didn’t move at all. So Gehazi went back to Elisha. He told him,“ The boy hasn’t awakened.”

Gehazi went on ahead and laid the staff on the face of the child, but there was no sound or sign of life. Therefore he returned to meet him and told him,“ The child has not awakened.”

耶稣说完了这些话，跟着又对他们说：“我们的朋友拉撒路睡了，我要去唤醒他。”

说了这话，就大声呼喊：“拉撒路，出来！”那死了的人就出来，他的手脚都缠着布，脸上裹着巾。耶稣说：“解开他，让他走！”

扫罗求问神：“我可以下去追赶非利士人吗？你把他们交在以色列人的手里吗？”那天神没有回答他。

他们把人给他们的公牛牵了来，预备好了，就从早晨直到中午，呼求巴力的名，说：“巴力啊，应允我们吧！”可是没有声音，也没有回应。他们就在所筑的祭坛周围跳舞。

因为一切显露出来的就是光，所以有话说：“睡了的人哪，醒过来，从死人中起来吧！基督必要照亮你。”

就走进去，对众人说：“为什么大哭大嚷呢？孩子不是死了，是睡着了。”

耶稣回答他们：“唉！不信的世代啊！我跟你们在一起到几时呢？我要忍受你们到几时呢？把他带到我这里来吧。”他们就把孩子带到他跟前。那鬼一见耶稣，就立刻使孩子抽了一阵疯，倒在地上，流着唾沫打滚。耶稣问他父亲：“这事临到他有多久了？”他说：“从小就是这样。鬼常常把他扔在火里水中，要毁灭他。如果你能作什么，求你可怜我们，帮助我们。”耶稣对他说：“‘如果你能’（“如果你能”有些抄本作“你若能信”）—对于信的人，什么都能！”孩子的父亲立刻喊着说：“我信！但我的信心不够，求你帮助我。”耶稣看见群众围拢了来，就斥责那污鬼说：“聋哑的鬼，我吩咐你从他身上出来，不要再进去。”那鬼大声喊叫，使孩子重重地抽了一阵疯，就出来了。孩子好像死了一样，所以许多人都说：“他死了！”但耶稣拉着他的手，扶他起来，他就站起来了。耶稣进了屋子，门徒私下问他说：“为什么我们不能把那污鬼赶出去呢？”耶稣对他们说：“这一类的鬼，非用祷告是赶不出去的。”

扫罗求问耶和华，耶和华却没有藉着梦，或乌陵，或先知回答他。

那时，有几个赶鬼的犹太人，周游各处，擅自用主耶稣的名，向身上有邪灵的人说：“我奉保罗所传的耶稣的名，命令你们出来。”有一个犹太人士基瓦，是祭司长，他的七个儿子都作这事。邪灵回答他们：“耶稣我认识，保罗我也知道；你们是谁？”邪灵所附的那人就扑到他们身上，制伏了两人，胜过了他们，使他们赤着身带着伤，从那房子逃了出来。所有住在以弗所的犹太人和希腊人，都知道这件事；大家都惧怕，尊主耶稣的名为大。

“人子啊！这些人已经把他们的偶像接到心里去，把那陷他们在罪孽中的绊脚石放在自己面前，我怎能让他们向我求问呢？

我带他去见你的门徒，他们却不能医好他。”耶稣说：“唉！这又不信又乖谬的世代啊！我要跟你们在一起到几时呢？我要忍受你们到几时呢？把孩子带到我这里来吧。”耶稣斥责那鬼，鬼就从孩子身上出来；从那时起，孩子就好了。门徒悄悄地前来问耶稣：“为什么我们不能把鬼赶出去呢？”他说：“因为你们的信心太小了。我实在告诉你们，只要你们的信心像一粒芥菜种，就是对这山说：‘从这里移到那里’，它也必移开。没有什么是你们不能作的。”﹙有些抄本有第

必有许多睡在尘土中的人醒过来，有的要得永生，有的要受羞辱，永远被憎恶。

人也是这样一躺下去，就不再起来，直到天都没有了还不醒过来，也不能从睡眠中被唤醒。

中午过后，他们继续狂呼乱叫，直到献晚祭的时候；可是仍没有声音，没有回应，也没有理睬他们的。
